IHSH-178 - 18oz Selvedge Denim CPO Shirt - Indigo Overdyed Black

I think it looks good. Size in chest and shoulder is good. I prefer longer arms, and I'm not sure that sizing down would result in that much of a reduction in sleeve length. Sleeves usually run longer as this gear is designed with bikers in mind. Correct me if I'm wrong.
-
IMHO it looks great on you. i’d cop a set of nekked mermaid things to put on the cuffs and rock it showing them off.

Thank you for the input everyone. I took a gamble on the sleeves because IH verified this one came a bit longer than advertised (over half an inch). I might just wait until these are restocked and specify for shorter sleeves.

Hey sweet combs. Just my 2 cents -
@brobles it doesn't look bad. Do you plan to wear it buttoned up? If you plan on wearing it buttoned up, sizing down may make it too tight in the chest.
I went for a size that allowed me to wear it like an overshirt (not buttoned up) which also meant shorter sleeves, but I still end up cuffing them because they're still long.

Fit is a personal thing so this is only my opinion but if it was me I’d size down. Please bare in mind that I like a trimmer fit on most things though.
I will add that the arms look long and loose, even when cuffed and you seem to have a lot of room in shoulders too. Length and chest look good if that is the fit you want, but you could afford to go down a size here also, if you wanted a slimmer fit.

That is a size down job all day long. Anyone who thinks differently is mad IMO

^ THIS!

Size down. Give it a whirl. U can always exchange again.

If you want to wear it as a shirt, I would size down.
Seems you have enough room left in the chest and shoulders.
There is also a little bit of stretch in the od fabric too.If you want to wear CPO's as a Shacket, don't worry and cuff.
PS:
To wait for a new batch with shorter arms…..can leave you behind with nothing else than a dream of this shirt @brobles -
Thank you all for the suggestions everyone, very insightful and you all make great points. You've all been extremely helpful.
I'll try for a smaller size when they become available again but will try to look for a cut with similar chest measurements.
The good thing is the shirt is extant so its a matter of playing the waiting game.

@brobles , my last 2 cents worth. I made my input based on you saying that you liked the fit. You later added that IH said the sleeve length was a bit longer than usual. Again, I stand by my statement, look at the measurements for the shirt and by sizing down is only going to give you a half inch shorter in sleeve length. Look at that on a ruler. So if you size down, I hope you still like the fit. Good luck, and I think those that think you should size down are mad, just my opinion.

The p2p measurement is definitely important and I would agree that sizing down may not work. However, based off his fit pics alone he looks like he’s swimming in that shirt. I looked again at the shoulders and they appear to hang unnaturally. The body length looks kinda long too

The arms are a tad long on mine but I love it, the chest fit for me is the most important. I have found that this denim does mould to your shape quite quickly. When I first tried it on I had doubts about the shoulders/arms too but they have folded and creased up beautifully, it now fits a treat..

I agree with @spitfiredealer 100%. If someone asks for advice on a fit, please give it to him instead of saying things like "looks great". At some level, there is objectivity in how a shirt fits.
The sleeves are about 3 inches too long and the arms are way too wide. Sizing down one will only give you a reduction of 0.5in in the arms, which won't really help that much.
The shoulders are also at least a half an inch to large on either side. Length seems ok but a bit shorter wouldn't hurt. I can't see the chest so well due to the shadows but the it seems like you have plenty of room in the pic from the back.
I would actually advise sizing down two.
Also, you should determine if work shirts or westerns fit your body type better. Generally, westerns work better on skinny people and work shirts on those who need more room in the chest. Based on your photos, I would guess work shirt.

This shirt is incredible. One of a few that I own 2 of.
I have a snug fitting xxl and a more casual fitting xxxl. Love them both. And I usually go for a more relaxed fit on my shirts, rather than fitted. I wear the xxl at work, the xxxl at play.
First IH shirt I ever bought and probably my favorite.

That was a very well said post DrPat - thanks for being an honest fit critic [emoji847]
I agree with the others here to size down at least one. Maybe the crew can find just the right shirt for you where the sleeves came up short!
Also seeing as how this is OD there should be zero shrinkage left…
