IHSH-179 - "The Kanreki Shirt" 6oz Check Flannel Single Yoke Western Shirt - Red
-
I bought this shirt a few weeks back and without doubt it’s my absolutely go to shirt. The fit is perfect (large) the fabric drapes and flatters my ageing body beautifully. The sleeves are simply amazing, exactly the right diameter and length, the tail (is that the right term) sits slightly lower than the front giving a wonderfully relaxed feel. Soft soft soft that cloth is something else. Forming a picture. [emoji41]

Looking to get a lighter flannel. How do you all like this shirt? I have the IHSH-193, and this seems like it would be a nice counter to it.

I meant to get back to you about this.
I have the opposite problem to you in that I need only one or two lighter shirts in the arsenal and can wear UHF’s nine months of the year. I’m happy one of my lighter ones is the 179.
It’s a very flexible shirt, looks good with both new and faded indigo denim, black denim and duck. It’s a light, soft, slightly stretchy fabric that still has substance to it. I pimped mine with MOP snaps and I’m glad I did.

No worries. I am sure you have a lot on your plate.
Yeah, we seem to have the opposite problem, where I could wear these every day from Oct-March with just a light jacket or no jacket. While I want a UHF, it just doesn't seem practical. The 193 I did get, which seems to be about the same weight as this one, is beyond awesome. Each time I wear it, people ask about it. I'd also love to have the Giles shirt. It has a cool history behind it. I am just a year late to the party.

@Wlemon the Kanreki is going to be much lighter than your 193. It is definitely a perfect weight flannel for warmer climates (I believe you are in LA?). I live in Phoenix FWIW and I love my UHF's but the weight of the Kanreki is definitely more suited for warmer climates than the bad boy UHF's.
I would also highly recommend you pick up one of the 195's (Grey or Red) as they are also a perfect weight flannel for warmer climates. I slightly prefer the red 195 over the grey but they are both killer colorways and awesome lightweight fabrics.

Everyone who owns the kanreki looks great in the kanreki… but no one looks quite as great as @RoxRocks86

Paired my Kanreki with a ridiculously orange running trucker hat on Hawaii's Big Island today.

That’s the green sand beach right? Olivine. Great photo

That's right! It's not really that green, but yeah, it's a bit olive gold!
