IHSH-75 - 12oz Indigo Selvedge Denim Work Shirt
-
I think it was something like the frequency of the stitch of the buttonhole machine not fitting the weave of the denim.

Actually, it is the frequency of the stitch perfectly matching the frequency of the weft and warp…
So near yet so far..

I was there two years ago. Get some fish sauce!
Gave my IHSH-75 a warm soak in the sea at Starfish Beach in North Phu Quoc today.

@Giles, curious if there's been any talk of resurrecting this shirt?
-
We all (inc Haraki) understand how important it is to have some 12 1nd 14oz denim workshirts (I have about 6 iterations I want to do). H is looking for a new workshop that will make them to the quality we expect but with buttonholes that don't fail. That takes time, unfortunately…

Thanks for the reply @Giles. I hope you didn't take my question as a criticism, I wasn't implying that something was missing from the products range by any means, was just curious. I have a 75, that fortunately I've had no problems with and it's a beautiful shirt. Pulled it out to wear the other day and made me wonder if it was to ever exist again. Good to hear that's a possibility though!

Lots of wear and washes. Purchased October 2016.

We have solved the buttonhole issues. Last time I was in Kojima, I went out with Mr Heavy Nell (the shirt maker) and Mr Heavy Ounce (Our main heavyweight jean maker). I bought the topic up at dinner (Because I'm western and rude) and they started to talk to each other and compare notes about how to solve it. H turned to me, and said, this never happens, they are usually competitors….
Anyway, we have initiated runs of:
12oz Indigo, contrast stitching
12oz Indigo, tonal stitching
12oz Indigo overdyed
12oz Superblack - Murdered Out - Johnny Cash Works Again
