ˆActually that’s quite the best possible way to monetize Keanu’s newly re-established coolness. All they need now is a decent script, something they admittedly haven’t had access to since the first episode. ::)
I’m cautiously optimistic about this project.
Exactly my thoughts. Fingers crossed…

Ok, seriously, how did this elude me. The Irisman film from a few years ago was good…but this!!!

Godzilla vs KOTM: 6/10
Visually cool but only ok as far as the story goes

John Wick 3: 6/10
I liked it but it felt rushed and cobbled together.

Finally got around to watching Alien: Covenant. I found it less shit than I feared and than others reported. Not great by any means, a bit by the numbers, but a nice continuation of the origin story and decent amalgamation of elements from both Prometheus and the the OG movies.
-
It was definitely better than Prometheus which isn’t saying much. My biggest complaint was the lack of character development. With the original films you connected with the characters. With Prometheus and Covenant Ridley created disposable characters that you didn’t care for. I’m nitpicking though as I’m prone to do with the Alien franchise [emoji850]

Rewatched Starship Troopers and man, this film has not aged well. And it goes without saying that the parallels to Aliens are pretty bad.

I watched Aladdin last night, expecting to hate it. It was not bad overall, with some genuinely good Bollywood influenced visuals, though I would not recommend going out of your way to see it.

Pet Semetary remake: meh
I'm over films that rely on jump scares. Very lazy storytelling imo
-
Starship Troopers is an excellent novel though.
Really enjoyed Lincoln Lawyer.

Brightburn: 7/10
For a low budget horror/hero film it's not that bad. I know some of you loathe the superhero genre but this one takes already established themes and flips them. They didn't hold back on the gore either. There were some loose plot holes that I could dissect but overall it was well done imo.

I dislike horror movies, so I never watched it, but I saw a trailer and thought it was an interesting premise. Good to hear it worked, more or less.

Midsommar; holy fuck what did I just watch (in a good way)….super intriguing, disturbing, uncomfortable, and one of the most unique movies I've ever seen. Can feel a bit slow in the beginning and it's not exactly a short movie but stick with it till the end. I highly recommend. You may not know whether you actually liked it or not when it's over but it's an experience.

Just rewatched green book yesterday. Wow. One of my favourites this year.
Joker. Great. Watched it twice.
Looking forward to Terminator: Dark Fate. I am not expecting much. Hoping for a nice cinema evening with lot´s of action and one of my favourite childhood stars. Get to the choppah!!!

Had the joy of watching Starwars, 'A New Hope' with my two kids for the first time.
Fantastic parenting moment….

Liked Joker too. A sort of Taxi Driver for the age of dross

I'm by no means an avid Star Wars fan but I am curious how The Rise of Skywalker film pans out this X-mas. There are already tons of Youtube videos that are pushing forth theories about Palpatine's return and who Rey's parents are.
It got me thinking, Anakin Skywalker had no father and he was allegedly conceived from midichlorians. Although not a new idea, my theory is that Palpatine is the one responsible for Anakin's birth and somehow Rey is a descendant of Palpatine. Maybe she's Luke's daughter or Kylo Ren's sister and if so, it would kinda make sense since she's imbued with force abilities. Palpatine > Anakin Skywalker > Luke & Leia > Rey & Ben Solo.
The real question is, how the feck is Palpatine still alive? Is he a clone? Or did he not die at the end of ROTJ?
