IHJ-64-BLK - Horsehide Modified Type III Jacket - Black (Tea-Core Dyed)
-
i tried this on at Self Edge yesterday and my is it a terrific jacket. I'm typically an XL is most IH shirts and wear a 42 (XL) in the IH-526PJ. I tried on a 40 and a 42. The 40 looked great, but was tight in the chest when buttoned. The 42 fit properly in the chest when buttoned, but the sleeves over the biceps were quite baggy.
I'm considering this, but am wondering if I should go with the 40 hoping for stretch, or the 42 hoping the sleeves will break in and drape less baggy.

I was in the same boat. Decided for XL
It gets better the more you wear it.. -
tough call. For IH tops I tend to size for the chest. I have the SExIH 14oz od type III in a 42 and have the same issue that you did with the 64 (fits perfectly in the chest over a UHF but has baggy arms). But, I bought that od type III as a layering jacket versus just wearing over a tee or henley. I fluctuate between a L and XL in UHF's but have been going with XL's lately due to shrinkage when washing.
But back to your question, how do you intend on wearing the 64? Did you try it on with just a t-shirt or did you try it on over a thicker IH button up shirt? If the 64 is meant as a warm weather jacket to be worn over a tee you could get away with a 40. But if you were planning on wearing it over a thicker IH top then 42 might be your best bet.
I basically just deal with the baggy arms and try not to let it bother me. If I buy another IH denim jacket i'd likely go down to a 40 since it's more of a warm weather jacket than anything. My 2 cents

Perhaps the answer is neither. It could be that this jacket just doesn't suit you and you should consider another model.
When I was at IHHQ several years ago I tried some of the collaboration leather jackets. Even though they were my size, they looked horrible. The red goatskin one fit me perfectly though….

could you point me to this jacket?
I can, but I don’t think it is what you had in mind… [emoji1]

Sorry to open this topic back up, but I wanted some fit help. I was worried about the sleeves being too baggy, but I think they’re good. I guess I’m wondering about the shoulders. I was planning on wearing it with layers…

I think it looks good. The sleeves will relax a bit over time. You wear it well. Rock it with confidence.

What was actually happening to my left during that picture @Giles
The cat and dog were getting along? It was fishy…
