What's your favorite Beer?

Drinking a very nice DIPA from a new (to me), French brewery called POPIHN… But I actually want to post these pictures... I came across them looking for an old pic...
G+P visit feb 2015 (w/ old AMG)... My seat was the one that's folded, yes the one that could barely seat a small hedgehog...

That’s An EQ staple. How was it?

I like Northern Monk, I love Pale Ale, I fekkin adore Jam Roly Poly and the can art is incredible. The Beer was a shit show though…
Imma have to creep to the cross here and cough up to being a dick.. I’d bought two of these and not being one to waste even shoddy beer I opened the second one this afternoon. I knew I’d poured the first one too hard and had got a lot of sediment in the glass (and there was a whole lot) so I took a lot more care with this one and the difference is phenomenal. Still not awesome, but pretty tasty without the floaters.
Continuing in my quest to drink all the pale ale, (like Keith Richards took all the drugs… he took all of them, there’s none left for you). This was quality. Straightforward, very well made, cheap as chips. The water up in Scotland is clearly still the t*ts.

You need to try some more variations then, nephy!.. I too am starting to shy away from the standard citra ipa or whatever… But there are some many new hops, so many new styles (milkshake ipa, oat ipa, lactose, fruited, sour,...), I just never get bored with the whole style... Of course I do realise your selection is more limited, unfortunately!..

My selection is pretty good actually. There are well over 100 different ipa’s at the biggest store in town, milkshake, brut, neipa, dipa, dhipa, Deepak Chopra, you name it. All the hop types are represented too in a myriad of combinations. I’m bored still though. The one thing they seem to have in common these days is that most of them seem overcooked on my palette. Too much. I’m enjoying pale ales, saisons and sours so much more.

Equilibrium makes some great beers. Hopefully they will expand distribution down my way.
Picked up a 4 pack of these yesterday. Another good one from Other Half.

Reuben, I understand where your mind is at. I've been going through phases like that for years. Towards the end of my bartender days, some 15 - 20 years ago, I dabbled in IPAs a bit. Craft brewing was still in it's early stages, and every brewer seemed to be trying to outdo every other in IBUs. I lost interest, and my taste for them, fairly quick. It took a while to come back to them, and I played it safe with fruited and milkshake versions, to start. But, I'm back. Lately, I've been seeking out single hop brews, to get an appreciation for individual hop flavor profiles. I'm getting to know my favorites, while keeping it interesting…
