Watches - another OCD problem
-
Calling all UK Rolex wearers…Where are you getting your Rolex's serviced?
-
I believe that the Blancpain Barakuda reissue sold out pretty quickly too. I'm not sure if it was hours, days, weeks, or even months. I'm not up on the brand.
Given I saw one both a Barakuda and a No Radiation on Chrono24 at nearly twice retail, I'd guess that they're a hot ticket. I'd be tempted to approach your local dealer now, and see if you can make an expression of interest in advance of the model being announced.
yeah. Im back on the 45 mm offering. It doesnt look too big in comparison to other watches and I've already tried it on and liked it.
My current dilemma is, do i get that, or do I leverage my uncles long standing relationship with a Rolex dealer and get on a list for a Pepsi. . .
Choices choices

I'm a tad biased, but Blancpain every time…
the sapphire face/bezel is quite literally one of the most beautiful things ive ever seen.

I love any FF (particularly the non-Bathyscaphe ones), but personally give the edge to the mainstream one.
I love those luminous numerals and thankfully since they made the field dark on the date wheel I find the asymmetry (which you get in some form either way unless you get the big date version, which is also very attractive) unobtrusive until you are looking for it. Were it on a white field I think it would bother me. -
i like where the date is on the fifty fathoms, only because it has the 12, 3, 6, 9. im a sucker for symmetry in the dark. but i agree since theres no numerals on that no rad, the date looks great there
-
I also would rather have no date window than at the 4 location. However, I'd rather have a small, color matched date window at the 4:30 position than a large, not color match one at 3. Good thing they make models for many preferences (though not all. My preference would be no date at all.!
-
goddamn i might have to get it
-
here it is on my wrist

Lovely piece. IMO having a date window always trumps a watch with no date window, regardless of how it's integrated.
-
I generally agree, dateless would be great @JDelage . I also think it would be kind of cool to make the date wheel on ones where the date is at 3 luminous to blend in even more with the markers. They had a chance to go dateless with the Tribute to the Aqua Lung a while back but didn't go that route.
The ultimate FF to me would be dateless steel case without a display back and with that double barrel length reserve and antimagnetism–basically the main one minus the date I guess.
They're just really elegant watches but also rugged. A tool watch that doesn't look like one.

so beautiful @bubbapest !

now the question is titanium or stainless steel . . .

My favourite Fifty Fathoms variant is the Seventies model, though in the original colour scheme rather than the new Desert style.
But I'd really suggest looking at the Glashütte Original Diver's Watch. When I saw them both a couple of years ago, I thought that it was better finished than the Blancpain.
