WHAT ARE YOU DOING TODAY (PICS)
-
We are heading to do a little circuit through Dalmatia in 6 weeks, @hajduk , Dubrovnik to Hvar to Splt and back to Dubrovnik before returning home.
I had really hoped to swing through Gosport on this trip for the 20th, but the timing doesn't quite work

Photo from yesterday when I received my mister Lous. These engineer boots will be hitting the isles of our local Target today. My wife and I are expecting our first child this coming October and we are going to put the last few items on our baby registry today. Anyone have a recommendation of that one item that is an absolute must have for a new born baby? I hope everyone has a kick ass Saturday!

Can't speak for baby needs as I don't have one yet but that that get-up is great and only going to keep getting better with time.

diapers. idk what way you're gonna go with nappies but if the pampers route get some in a bigger size than newborn cause that kid gets big fast
We went the plastic way and thank Christ we did we were busy enough without washing shitty diapers
You are not gonna believe how much that kid shits which means don't come home from the store with one bag of diapers Have fun its the best. And I mean it when I say that.
Of course, I'm a man and didnt carry the weight that my wife did -
Congrats @Traditional__edc ! As Steelworker says, it really is the best.
Looking back, one thing I used all the time when my kids were little was a BabyBjorn carrier. All my kids loved being in there. Little babies want to be with/on their parents literally all the time. It’s lovely, but obviously sometimes you’re gonna have shit to do. I’ve got a stand-up desk in my home office so I could work while wearing the baby for a few hours. My wife got some much needed time to herself.
Slings are good too but I was always worried I’d do it wrong and accidentally hurt them. Carriers feel a bit more robust and idiot proof. -
Awesome news @Traditional__edc !
Pack and play
SlumberPod
Baby Björn or similar
Strollers (four wheel handle much better, aside from a Bob stroller for rugged terrain). I hated our modular car seat stroller but a good version of that is highly recommended if your baby will ride in a car
Hatch lamp/sound machine
A small sound machine to carry with you
Diaper bag
Feeding chair. Inglesina or similar that clips to a table or counter is pretty great
110L Ortlieb dry duffel to haul all this shit if you’re traveling with the baby at some point. We are 19 months into this adventure so do not hesitate to PM me with questions, as the lessons learned are many and still fresh.

The start of a few days away staying in what was the stokers cottage attached to a steam drainage engine (you might get some outside shots in the coming days). For now appreciating some of the cool details inside.
Leather draught proofing strips. Never seen this before but looks so much better than rubber.
Little trap door for power points.
And relax!

I promised/threatened some outside pics of where I’m staying this week.
I’m in the near section.
Passageway between where I am staying and the old diesel engine house.
Diesel and steam engine houses. If you look closely at the right gable end above the alarm box you will see the remains of a pocket watch. Apparently two farmhands were watching the builders at work. One said to the other it only needed a clock to look like a church. The bricklayer asked if he had a watch and took it away. The watch was never returned

We visited an ancient alien cathedral and paid our respects to Xenu
Then Hattie stole a hovercar in a dystopian future cityscape
Hattie couldn’t leave without taking home a new friend. A catwolf that meowhowls

Thanks folks, I am completely smitten. Her eyes are like her mama's, except her mom's have some gold overlaying the blue.
I can barely remember not being a dad and she's not even 2 yet.

@Madame Buttonfly couldn't bear it, so she has added a woman's touch. Towel (as if I'm going to bother washing) and pillowcase. She's a lot happier now…

Didn't have any chocolates handy, or I would have put one on the pillow
