Looking for some Wesco Mr. Lou sizing help. I have 4 different styles of Viberg boots. Everything from westerns, ropers, service boots, and CSA work boots. They are all size 11.5 but have various widths based on the last. From everything I’ve read on this forum I should go with a size 12 Mr. Lou but I’m not sure on width. Maybe the same width as my Viberg western boots because the style is similar? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.
@deanclean - I wear an 8.5 in the Viberg 2020, 2030, & 2050 and measure on the Brannock a 9.5D . I have two pairs of Mr Lou’s on the Motor Patrol 1339 last - both in size 9E - and they fit very well in both length and width. Standard & Strange sell the Mr Lou’s and there website specifically states that the MP1339 last that these are built on runs narrow, so the E width wears like a D and to take one-half size smaller than your Brannock size. I found this to be true - but I never tried a 9D or 9.5D to compare since the 9E fit well. John

Thanks John Galt At least I’ve figured out I need a size 12. I’ll have to check the width of all my Vibergs and try to figure out what Mr Lou width would be best. Appreciate the input.

@deanclean Also email the shop shop@ironheart.co.uk concerning sizing. @Chesson is awesome with advice/sizing re: Wesco

Anybody have an idea what the wait time now is for Wesco custom made boots?

I dug a little deeper into my Viberg lasts and sizing. They are all size 11.5.
Last 2005 which is an EE
Last 1040 which is an E
Last 2040 is an E but I read it’s more like a D.
My 2040s fit the best I think so I’m thinking I should be looking at a size 12D in a Mr. Lou thanks again everyone for the help. -

Not sure but I have things order from December and February that I still haven't got. Understandable with all the disruptions.

@deanclean My experience is the same as Dmart’s experience - the Mr. Lou E width runs similar to a standard D width.

John Galt thanks again. I called up Wesco today and spoke with a gentleman called Kris. Spoke quite a while actually. I couldn’t believe how friendly and patient everyone there seems. You just don’t get that these days it seems. He answered all my questions and suggested I go with a 12D. So I’m going to put an order through later today I hope. It’s Thanksgiving here so may not have time this evening but hopefully tomorrow.

On the topic of custom orders from Wesco, are Mr Lous just a version of the Boss? Lous aren't listed as an option in the custom feature configurator on the Wesco site, so I'm basically just wondering how that works — maybe just a Boss with the MP toe option? Maybe not that simple… Anyway, I've only ever had a stock pair.
A bit frustrating bc basically I just want the stock black horsehide Lou in a 12.5. I wonder if they could swing that any earlier than the nearly yearlong waiting period.

popvulture I don’t think it would be any earlier. They are on first come first serve basis. The guy I talked to said even stockists don’t get ahead in line.

MP toe, slim shaft, tighter heel cup.
But best to ask Wesco the questions.

Cool that makes sense. I figure I should just email and say “I want a Mr Lou with these specs” instead of bothering with trying to customize a Boss on the site. It’s a bit hard to visualize anyway, since the configuration just gives you illustrations.

If I remember correctly IHUK have Mr Lou's coming in soon (er than the 11 month build wait) in a few colours of horsehide @popvulture

We have black, brown & natural horsehide on order @Nkwkfld @popvulture - It's going to be around 5-6 months still though.
