Oh no, I didn't know. Rumours is by far their best IMO, impeccable wire to wire and one of the greatest albums of the era. It's a shame the interpersonal dynamics soured, but I supposed that was a big part of the tension that made that such a great product.

Maynard makes decent wine, probably REALLY good wine for AZ. A tad boozy, but each of the varieties of Merkin Chupacabras we tried (white, rose, red) were good. Pretty sweet little tasting room / osteria there in Cottonwood, AZ.
These guys opened for Garaj Mahal last Saturday. Definitely music nerd prog fusion jazz and as such not for everyone. But if you like things like Allan Holdsworth, Oz Noy, Wayne Krantz, John Scofield, etc, you might dig these guys. Again, Kris Myers on the skins, whom @Jett129 noted above in that Billy Strings post–he was fantastic live.
They played such a long set that I had to go before Garaj Mahal came on (to relieve the sitter at midnight). Huge bummer, but very excited to have caught such great new-to-me music.
I've been listening a bit to Pond from Perth, Australia. Really love them. I don't know what's in the water down there, but Australia's putting out some amazing music, especially per capita
And it turns out they're playing nearby on Friday. So, probably going to make the trip to Englewood to see them.

Oz Noy doesn't fuck around. I didn't know he played with Pretty Purdie.
As far as elite drummers go, he's also played with Keith Carlock (who took lessons from my teacher way back in the day and surpassed him as a pre-teen), Virgil Donati, Dave Weckl, and my favorite Vinnie Colaiuta.

@mclaincausey - I made the London date, Billy & the Band did not disappoint!
2nd time seeing him in London this year for me - my guess is he will be playing in one of the bigger venues or doing multiple nights next time round.
It was a shame so many people decided to talk loudly and dick around with phones though.
Each to their own but always seems like a strange way to enjoy the moment to me! -
We call the folks who chat excessively “chompers” here in the States and they are the bane of any music lover’s existence. I just don’t get it. Fucking with the phones too. Including blocking people’s view while you take a video that you’ll never watch. Like, you’re here dude—be here and enjoy the moment!!
Glad ya had fun @IH-GARY !

I really love going to shows but these people are the worst. In our modern era I'm fine if you want to snap a photo or a 10 second video or something but people that are just taking video or photos excessively just kill the vibe for me so hard.
