Sundays are always a mixed bag. When the daughter is here, we hang out until it's time to go back to her mamusia's. This time of year, football serves as ambient background noise, and laundry rules the day. Anything to keep my mind off of the work week to come is always welcome.
Today did wind up a tad different, though. Recently, I finally got around to picking up some supplies for a hobby I've been wanting to try my hand at…..
I've got a pair of 21 oz Busters I use for work. The beginning of a blowout was giving me cause for concern…..
Patched the inside, first…..
Then, worked on a cover…..
It's not the prettiest work ever, but it feels as though it'll be effective. All in all, I'm happy with my first go at it. I've got a couple more pairs to work on. Hopefully I'll get better with my control. I used my fingers as pin cushion a few times.
Today's mood…..

Thanks, Rox. Although, to me, it's more "normal" than "classic". I've lived my entire life in the Milwaukee area. It's a blue collar town. It's also the home of Harley-Davidson. Jeans, tees, leather jackets, and black boots are thoroughly engrained in the culture. If I wear anything else with it, other than possibly a black tee, or waffle crew, it's likely forced.

About a dozen years ago, I decided I needed a career change. I pursued an apprenticeship in a skilled trade, and was given the opportunity. While, the future pay and benefits were going to be well worth it, as an apprentice they don't start out that way. Early on, money was very tight, and I needed to supplement my income. So, I took a part time job. Now, I realistically don't need the job, anymore. But, I'm only doing 1 short shift a week, on Tuesday nights, and when work at the day job gets slow, I pick up a few extra shifts to keep me busy. Moreover, the extra cash pays for my car's insurance and maintenance, and I figure I can spring for 3 extra IH pieces a year.
Before anyone gets the urge to ask the question, the answer is… Yes, I am freaky fast.....

Quick update….. I haven't done much since Wednesday. Even though I'm back to a standard work week, I'm feeling a bit burned out from the long summer. I've been coming home and shutting down. Yesterday was chore day, and today I managed to get out and take care of some errands. A gloomy day it was. So, the Mad Red served as a bit of contrast.....
One of today's errands was to go to Walgreen's, and get a flu shot. The pharmacy was a bit busy, and I was told to have a seat, while they handled those ahead of me. While sitting there, only one song came to mind…..

Great look, @scooter. after you posted your last shots you had the look of a man on the o/t train. Glad you got through the summer.
Good tune. I wait, I wait, I wait.. -

Good tune. I wait, I wait, I wait..Thanks, Ed. Yes, the OT was rolling for 3 months. Thankfully, it's a thing of the past, now. I'm hoping to work 40s until January, and maybe get a few weeks off in the new year. Work will have to slow a tad for that to happen, though. Fingers crossed.

Well, It's been a bit. Time for an update…..
A couple of weeks ago, my daughter's school closed up, due to a few kids catching the 'rona. Thankfully, it would seem she wasn't in close enough proximity of them, to be one of them. Virtual learning was the rule, until they reopened earlier this week. To be on the safe side, I've kept close to home. But, today, I needed to get out. Having some free time, I took the Mad Red on a little tour of my home town.....
I dropped in on the local men's mercantile that carries a number of the brands we are familiar with. They don't carry IH, yet. But, from my conversation with the owner, that may change, soon. Fingers crossed.....
I wandered past a couple of companies that are synonymous with Milwaukee. In my line of work, I've had the opportunity to work in both facilities…..
For those who may remember the TV show Happy Days, Milwaukee was home to the Cunninghams, and Arthur Fonzerelli. Apparently, we have no one in real life worthy of being bronzed, so the Fonz got the honor. The statue is a fairly popular tourist attraction, though. As far as the Mad Red is concerned, the Fonz approves…..

This is fantastic:
Great update. I’ve said it before but it is a goal for me to visit your part of the US. I realise why the eastern and western seaboards are popular with the tourists but it seems to me that Pennsylvania, Michigan, Minnesota etc are the heartlands of your country. Being a north country boy, both in my native land and my adopted country, I see a lot of similarities between the English North, northern Norway and South Wales for that matter.

Time to catch up…..
Last update, I forgot one pic. About 3 years ago, I took part in the 666 double indigo tour. At the time I was working on a big project. It has since been named the Fiserv Forum. It is home to the local NBA team, the Milwaukee Bucks, as well as being a major concert venue.....
Last year, when I went to Gos Vegas for the 10th, @neph93 invited me to the pub to enjoy some footy(and, a few beers, as well). Since then, I've become a bit of a Liverpool fan, and have adopted them as my "home" team. I'm not much of a TV watcher. I don't have cable, satellite, or a streaming service. At home, I'm at the mercy of NBC, and their limited coverage. A week ago Sunday, they had a match against City, and felt it was time to find a spot to watch. I figured this place would do the trick…..
Not quite the English Breakfast I remember. But, it was pretty tasty, nonetheless…..
A little shot of the Mad Red, on the way out…..
Later that night, the fam came for strip…..
This past Friday was another daddy/daughter pizza night…..
And, a shot of me and the restaurant mascot just seemed appropriate…..
Today's mood…..
