IH-777-XHSib - 25oz Selvedge Denim Super Slim Tapered Jeans - Indigo/Black
-
looking great @Smiladon - I too prefer my 777 cut cuffed - something about the slight taper really looks good when it hits right around the ankle.
-
Creeping up on the 1 month mark on this pair so decided to give them a soak and sun dry since the sun finally decided to show up after a few weeks of gray rainy weather. Been rotating between these and the indigo 21oz & the 21oz feels so flexible and lightweight like wearing pajama pants to work
With that said, I’ve become a true fan of 25oz. Will there ever be a re-run of those tee’s??? Or an updated version?
-
Now, this is quite exciting!!!
-
@RoxRocks86 Keep up the work. Electric blues are starting to show.

Couple coop (typo, but I’ll leave since a chicken coop
is in the picture :P) shots. Messing with my portrait mode.

I think they had calluses after breaking in the 555s last year

Help I'm between sizes and really am torn with what size to order in these incredible jeans !!: My first, one and only so far pair of IH's are the 19oz Lefty selvedges v2 in a 666 size 38 (35.9 waist) which is pretty perfect on the waist, took a bunch of work to get the top button closed, like a month !! My true waist size, (yes measured 9 pairs the IH way, of other selvedge denims ) is 37.5" so my 666's in the aforementioned pair stretched/gave me an inch even after one soak. looking at the charts and comparing it looks like I've got to choose for these IH-777-XHSib 25oz'ers : go big @waist 38 ( 39" in the waist) or waist 36 ( 36.9) hoping they give me that inch.
I Love my 666's but with a 8.5 shoe size sometimes that bottom opening cuff looks huge and a bit funny, looking for the taper of the 777's.
I'm leaning to the size 36 but still nervous. I've been in contact w/Graham via several emails on this and it seems I still must choose the closest measurement to my true waist measurement 37.5"
Sorry if this reads poorly, hopefully someone gets what I'm talking about, what I'm faced with. Any help would be greatly appreciated !!! -
@Shanman11 I think you should go for the 36. I normally wear a 36, my actual waist is probably 36.3”, I went with the 35 with an actual of 35.7” and they fit me perfectly after a month of wear. Not that it took a month to get that way, definitely ten days though
Unless you plan on washing them first… that’s a whole different story -
Anyway, I hear you completely. I’ve learned the hard way, size a little bit down if you can. They will stretch. Even if you wash them, they will stretch back to before wash measurements, maybe more. I also hear you on the 666 cuff (although It’s growing on me) and the 777 has become my favorite
-
@Shanman11 - I will disagree with sizing down. One of my favorite quotes is “size for the thighs”. I like to be comfortable in my jeans. XHS WILL shrink & it hates to stretch out. This is my experience after 3 pairs of XHSib & 3 pairs of XHS.
-
I removed my above comment because it was lazy and unhelpful. But I can say that if the waist is too big and you hope to shrink it, that just won't work. I have owned 8 or so pairs of XHS over the years, and many other various IH pairs, 3 of which were sized up and the fit was always too loose over time.
I've tried hot soaking, boiling, hot washes with the water heater set to explode, you name it and the waist might shrink. 75 inches. But it will always stretch out to the original size and then some. It even says this in the product description.
I agree that if the thighs are too small then maybe the cut isn't for you in the first place… but if the OP is close to a size they will get more out of the smaller size. Unless it is too small in some measurement. It seems like they are on the right track emailing IHUK and they have plenty of experience with various cuts and denims.

Arrgghh!!! This will be a tough call either way. Lately I’ve been going a bit more lax to be comfortable in other brands etc. I have put on some Rona weight and it’s stubborn to come off these days and at my age (55 but doing look it
️) So it’sa difficult choice. The 777 cut might lend itself to going larger as opposed to tighter/smaller. I used to have skiers/ skaters legs and butt however again, too much work these days, I come home and pass out in my jeans
Thanks so much,

Also a thought I had is maybe buying both pairs and returning the one that doesn't fit. You're going to lose $30 in return shipping but you will have a pair of jeans that will fit versus taking a chance and it not working out.
