IH-777-XHSib - 25oz Selvedge Denim Super Slim Tapered Jeans - Indigo/Black
-
The 19oz LHT of your 666’s is a very different denim to this. It doesn’t shrink and stretches easily. The XHS shrinks and will stretch only with effort. The crew are right, they are different. Generally you end up with a pair about the same as, or slightly bigger than, starting measurements. I’d say the w36 pair will end up around 37”.
The 777 also has a relatively low rise meaning the sit more on the hips than at the waist. Depending on you body shape, this can be a good or a bad thing. For me it is bad. I can do an actual 35-36” in jean in the 777 but starting dims of 34” or a little less in the 888.
As a matter of fact I would recommend looking at the 888. It has a more generous thigh, still tapers and has a smaller hem as a result and the high rise means it can be sized down as it actually sits were most people are slimmest in their torso.
Awesome expert advice as usual !! I see indeed they have the ib available in the 888 as well. This may indeed be the better cut. Originally I thought I would hate anything in a med/high rise but recently purchased some Oni and PBJ's and Benzaks in this type of cut and they're comfortable, more than I ever thought would be possible. I'm a bit old school and thought I would hate anything with a "drop crotch" or anything I felt was saggy in the crotch. I'll do the compare thing on the site w/ three cuts : 666 (cause that's what I have), 777 & 888.
And then there's the thing of how much Denim is too much?! I know once I buy these all others will take a major back seat to this hardcore heavy ( I love it ) Denim !! Sigh…..at least I have a job
thanks again for the awesome advice !!

31 days of wear.

since posting the above I've been trying to figure out the bottom left leg crease on the back. Then I crossed my left leg over my right and it hit me!
They truly reflect your life -
and i should bust out the lint roller before photos to get rid of at least some of the pet fur

I'm about 1 week of wear into these after a wash and hem by Indigoproof. I'm thinking that overall these jeans fit pretty well for me, nothing feels too tight at all. I've got room where I need it, I feel the fit is quite flattering. I'll try to get some fit pics up.
One problem I'm having though is with the button fly area. Its super stiff and digs into my stomach when I sit, making it a bit uncomfortable. Anyone else ever have this problem?

Lol - I have the same issue with mine! My dog’s tan fur seems to be uncontrollably drawn to these.

Here are some pics of mine after a month of wear. They’ve broken in nicely. I gave them a warm soak with some agitation before wearing. They were SUPER tight afterwards, but have since stretched back out. I am really loving the fit and feel of these.

The waistband where it buttons up is a pretty heavy, thick inflexible area, with a right angle of felled 25oz seam. So that will dig in. The good news is that with wear the waistband will stretch and that area will soften.
Either that or your stomach will develop callouses and so you won’t notice anymore. [emoji1]

@bobbychacha great looking jeans right there! Almost the exact amount of evo in the same places. I’m loving mine. They were before wearing them my ideal measurements and after wearing them for a month I am absolutely in love with them.
@pacreamer i agree with the above statement from Neph. The waistband will stretch, especially if there’s pressure exerted there. My problem was more on my hip bones but it went away

@neph93 Yeah, that's totally what I was figuring. Can't wait for that stomach callous!

First update for the Indigo Invitational after 30 light wear days. Taking it slow and letting the denim settle in. I sized up one tag size this year to allow a little more room for the fabric to gain personality. I'm also finding them to be quite a bit more comfortable this way.

@alexswords great fit mate

@alexswords How do you like the 777 versus the 555? I have the 555 and like the rise but have been used to a lower rise in the past. Thought I would get your take on the difference out side of the larger size.

I look forward to hearing what @alexswords has to say but having owned both cuts the difference is mostly in the topblock (the 777 is trimmer as well as shorter), and the leg.
The 555 tapers sharply from thigh to knee then straightens out knee to hem. The 777 taper continues all the way down.

I have worn both fits 555’s and the 777’s for two years. XHS 25oz
My experience with 777 was the problem with thigh was being tight low waist kept down… that was very uncomfortable.
Switch to 555 XHS 25oz, am not having them problems, can move around easily.
Am working in the 555 feels good to be in them.
Winner for me 555.
Every one has their own opinion what they want to wear.

I ordered the smaller size (36", true waist is 37.5) in the 888 actually, makes sense that it (888) should afford me some more room with the higher rise.
I never thought I'd like a med/high rise but I'm learning. I've recently got a few other pairs from other top notch brands and sure enough, they're working, feeling and I think looking great !!
Thank you all

These look really good and now have me thinking about sizing up on my next pair as well to get that extra personality as you say.
I think the stacking fades on these will be great. -
Hell yes! Coming along nicely, especially those combs. love it
