They are indeed a perfect fit @den1mhead ….How do they compare with other IH cuts?

Don’t have a pair myself (but will do one day). The numbers are extremely similar to the IH 555’s

@Baba-san cheers buddy. I admit to having most IH cuts at some time in the past but right now its IH-777R-142 and IH-301S 07BK Overdyed Slim 19oz so I don't feel best placed to make a considered comparison. However, I can say this; they are a wonderful feel and fit with the stretch aiding full and free movement. Quoting Jules " you don't have to start world war three to get them on and you don't need to go to the medical centre to have your injuries treated after wearing them for the day". Stacks of flex and stretch plus they look wicked with a deep indigo hue. 10/10

Interesting @den1mhead ….I do have a pair of uglybros biker specific stretch Kevlar and cotton jeans, with armour pockets and built in protection that also allows ‘free movement ‘ when riding my motorcycle... I have tried riding in IH denim but feel quite restricted in movement... which is a nice way of saying ‘****ing uncomfortable,
... Jules’s analogy’s is a great way of putting it!
@neph93 … 555’s are my go-to cut so I think I’d get on well with these

Ignition is a niche brand that H started so he could design for a specific target audience, namely the younger generation of HD owners. The stretch is there explicitly for bike riding comfort. The Ignition vests are also full of rider friendly features.
The upcoming “Shinayaka” stretch denim from Iron Heart was conceived of with the same benefits is mind. Of course, lots of non-bikers will enjoy a little bit of stretch too. For example, first timers who are sceptical to wearing such heavy denim; those of us (myself included), who are restricted by the slimness of certain cuts; those of (myself included), who like their denim on the snug side from time to time, will all enjoy it I think.

Great family pics and both gents in denim are looking great! I wish I had the dedication to wear my jeans down to what those UHR have become. Btw, that house is eerily similar looking to mine albeit with different colors [emoji102]

So after about 2 solid weeks of wear on my 101D, I wanted to give a bit of an update for those interested.
1. Does the denim stretch snd stay stretched like regular denim?
- yes - while is really holds it’s shape, the thighs and waist have given a decent amount. Mine were not skin tight to start with, but the fit, while forming REALLY well to my body, has given and stays stretched out. I’d say .75ish inches in the waist and a good .25 thigh measurement when laid flat. I do climb into a truck without step bars, so I’m stretching these for sure, but alas.. there is give.
2. Do they fade?
You bet you bottom dollar these puppies fade. They crease in nice thick rolls, not unlike the UHR does. While the color is already VERY different than other IH offerings, the slightly off color weft really makes these look dark with deep purple hues - so the contrast on creases and wear marks is pretty drastic. (See the 101D next to the 76 in the photos below).3. Does it “feel” like iron heart?
- totally - while the comfort is immediate due to the softness of the non-selvedge denim and the added stretch, the denim is hefty and even has that “click” sound from the rear pocket area when you walk (what, just me that finds that on all my heavy jeans?)
4. Is this really a “better fit” than the normal 555?
- years ago there were some posts about how Haraki believed the Non-Selvedge 634 and 461 were “better fits” because they didn’t have to keep the straight selvedge line on the inseam - and could shape the Jean from both the inseam and out seam. To me, we benefited from that on the 101D. The hips are more relaxed than the standard 555 cut, which means you can wear them as a true mid-high rise jean, not just a mid rise that sits at the waist and give the famed “diaper butt” to more muscular body types. I feel like (in my size at least) the 101D is perhaps the best fitting tailored jean for a muscular build - and I thought they would be too slim based on measurements. A blessing in disguise
-
@Appfaff these are possibly one of the best fitting jeans ive seen you wear.
Don't get me wrong man..you can rock the different cuts with the best of them, but these in particular–look really good on you.
Maybe going without the cuff even looks better with these---the stacks should be nice.
Classic outfit with the 33 too--at least I think that's the 33. -
Thanks @dinobarnesberlin - I agree, a slim straight cut with higher rise looks best on me, however, before now, the mobility was always an issue.. I am really loving these and will be getting the ST denim in a slim fit (probably a size down from these) once released as well.

These look like they give you plenty of room to move in for sure. Sizing down would leave less room no?
