IH-777S-19IB - 19oz Selvedge Denim Super-Slim Tapered Cut Jeans – Indigo/Black
-
Well I decided to take the plunge. Now I just hope that the postal service is up to speed…
Apologies that your original question went unanswered. How well a denim breathes is indeed dependent on weave, not weight. I can't help you with the 19oz as I don't own any yet. But @Giles will know. So will you soon. Congratulations, this looks like beautiful denim.

No worries
I finally figured out that at lot of information about this denim was to be found in the fall 2020 area of the forum - that made the decision easy.
I didn’t find anything about breathability, but I’ll manage. I love the way it fades in the pictures, and look forward to to see how mine will do.

I’ll see what I can do. Working from home due to lockdown means more time in jeans, unfortunately it’s mainly spent sitting on my butt.
^I know exactly what you mean.

So I received them - apparently they were held up in Cologne for the weekend - and they are great.
The fit is a little tight around the thighs at the moment, but I think it'll loosen up. As stated above I do a lot of sitting on my butt these days, so I'll be working on it.
I love the colour. So dark that it is hard to see if they are black or a deep navy. My wife was quite intrigued. I'll see if I can get pictures in daylight one of these days.
The fabric is great too. People say that the regular 21 oz seems lighter - I'd say that feeling is even more pronounced with these, absolutely comfortable right out of the bag. They still seem solid, and are definitely heavy, but very soft as well.
I asked about breathability, and I can't really answer. My first impression is that they are a little bit tighter than the 21 oz, but I only have my own pair to compare with and they have both been worn and washed. I'll get back on it, if I can tell a difference once I get these broken in.

I hope the picture works - it is a horrible picture (nice pavement though), but it shows the fascinating colour of these pants. The picture is taken in early morning light, and there is an almost purple hue to the denim.
Last night when I opened them inside the house they looked black or very dark navy. And in the morning, when I was still in the house they seemed dark blue.
I can now understand why I had a hard time getting the hang of the colour when watching them online.
(And no I generally don’t take pictures of my crotch and post them online, but this seemed like the right place to do it…)

I think that unless you work directly with internet smut (and all
power to those that do), then this is one place where posting crotch shots is acceptableI think your pic makes the point about colour very well. All these different dyeing methods make for some amazing pants. The is it blue/black/purple/grey is very much a thing with OD’ed kit as well. They look awesome in combination with the boots too btw

not being able to find a proper size in 666 or 777s in 21oz, decided to pull the trigger on these. Graham from the IH crew was super helpful in detailing the sizing and i'm super happy to go with 19oz

Excellent. I’m pleased for you. And a little envious. I really wanted a pair of jeans in this denim, but alas, none worked for me.

thanks neph!
i plan on wearing them through the winter, my old pair of heavier winter chinos fell apart completely a week ago. will then update the look and the fading progress. right now it is a mistery to me which way they'll go. was really looking to get the 21oz in 666 cut, but yeah, waiting for november to buy winter clothes is never too smart
think this 19's will work just fine, my first heavyweight pair. -
That is great news indeed. I would of snagged a 19ib if it was made in 634 cut…
