IH-888S-21od - 21oz Selvedge Denim Medium/High Rise Tapered Cut Jeans - OD'd
-
About three months of wearing most days, love how these are coming along, so solid.
-
Thanks @neph93 my washing routine is quick wash (30 mins) 30 C no spin then I lay flat on a towel and roll it up before hang drying. This pair have been washed three times I think.

@lee:
What’s the main difference between the 888 and selfedges 633 fit please cheers lee
The 633 is the same medium rise top block and relaxed thigh as the 634 but with taper from the knee to hem. The 888 has a higher rise that narrows towards the waist, an a relaxed leg that tapers evenly from the top of the thigh all the way to the hem, giving an overall slimmer profile than the 634 and 633, as the knee is narrower.

Usually they’re not cuffed
-
I would go 888 they are super comfortable.
-
The high rise is comfy but takes getting used to I think.
The high rise also becomes less of a noticable feature with wear, both in terms of wearing them and the optics. It relaxes and creases beautifully on most body shapes.
When choosing a size, bare in mind that the OD 21oz stretches more than any other denim.
-
When new and when sitting the waist band at the back sticks out a long way and then after a few wears the fabric adapts to the body and there isn’t that space. I was concerned when I first got them but needn’t have been. The 21oz denim takes on the shape of its wearer, and I wonder if the overdye might even increase this aspect of the fabric. Perhaps this is because it has seen higher temps than the non OD, so it has more room to stretch and give from when it is first worn.

I think you’re absolutely right on point one. As for point two, also yes. I think the brutal nature of the OD process makes the fabric even less resistant to pressure.

Deuce looks like you found a perfect fit. You happy with the hem? Your 1907’s are a good contrast in terms of colour and the chunkiness pairs better with a wider hem. Although I’ve seen suggestions on the forum that hemming slims the jeans from the knee to ankle, my experience is the opposite. That a wide cuff as you have here causes the fabric to taper from knee to ankle to fit underneath the folds. It’s not that the material stretches over the cuff and looks bigger, the cuff stays the same circumference and the fabric inside accommodates in an inward direction. I’ve had wide pairs that appeared tapered when thickly double cuffed, then once hemmed seemed much wider afterward. All that’s to say if you want to keep the shape you’ve achieved now I’d recommend against hemming. Will be interesting to hear your thoughts of the 888 from other cuts.
