IHJ-82-IND - 14w Corduroy Modified Type III Jacket - Indigo
-
looking for what you get out of that, @Filthy
-
Yes, I will let you know tomorrow after it dries. The cuffs were exactly 5 inches and the length was 26. I am purposely not soaking near the armpit area. I want that area as wide as possible.
-
@Filthy:
as wide as possible
..so as to accommodate the guns.
P.S. I love your mad scientist shrinkage experiments
-
-
@steelworker I got just under and inch of shrink from 26 to 25.3 and the cuff shrink ¾ of an inch..
-
I was thinking since they did shrink. It'd be prudent to soak 'em again. Some I reboiled the water from last night and am soaking them again.
-
More than I thought you'd get. Thank you, Mike!
-
-
I definitely got some shrinkage and some nice combs going on this jacket
-
Great look there @dinobarnesberlin .

Great look there @dinobarnesberlin .
Thanks @ROman –- these jackets are perfect for spring weather.
@Filthy –jacket came out really good.-The combs look pretty set now.
Glad the boil job worked out for you, and really good to know in case I want to try it down the road at some point. -
Thanks

Can anyone comment on the comparative weight/warmth/breathability of this versus one of the 14oz denim varietals?
-
@Chain$titch IHJ-69 (same corduroy fabric as the 82) vs. IH-526J-142 (14 oz denim), both in XL: corduroy 765g, denim 1115g; the corduroy being more breathable, the denim with its denser weave a little warmer, at least here where we have a lot of wind. Both wonderful jackets.
-
That's really interesting, thanks for sharing, @endo
Based on your measurements, if the jackets have the same construction, buttons, etc, then the corduroy is likely between 9 and 10 oz.

@endo
You, Sir, are a king among men. May blessings rain down from the heavens upon your head for at least the next 24 hours.Based on your measurements, if the jackets have the same construction, buttons, etc, then the corduroy is likely between 9 and 10 oz.
@Mike_Lima_Papa
The quick math is 9.6oz, which definitely falls in line with my own observation awhile back (and posted in the IHJ-69 thread) about the slightly heavier IHJ-70 feeling "like it's maybe 12oz". -
@J-IV nice one. I hope you like it as much as I do.
-
The fabric has such a unique characteristic. A lot different feel and weight from the other IH corduroy I've handled. I can't imagine how this will look once you beat the shit of it (with love lol).
It's been pretty warm out here but I'll try my best to get a fit pic of up here soon.

Just received few more IH items from Selfedge yesterday, and i've found a better spot to take pictures in my home, i dont know why but the transportor gave my parcel to a neighbour i had never seen before in the building next to mine, at first i thought my parcel was lost but at the end of the day he brought me the package, i feel kind of lucky, if that guy was not correct i would have lost 700 dollars of goods .
