Seeking advice on selling jeans
-
Good day all,
I find myself in a situation that maybe some of you are or were in. The work from home/lockdown year has added some pounds back that I had lost about seven years ago and I find myself with several pairs of jeans in my closet that no longer fit (some only by a little and some by a lot). I am working on losing the pounds again but I’m not sure it will get me back into the jeans. It seems that the weight was added in my hips, thighs, and love handles, which might be hard for me to target and are the areas most crucial when it comes to jeans fitting comfortably. So, do I keep the jeans (a mix of IH, PBJ, Momotaro, Naked & Famous, JB, and Gustin with some being limited production or anniversary make ups) and see where I am at in six months or sell them. If I sell them would the forum be a good place? eBay? Someplace else?
I know I am not a frequent poster but I have lurked for quite a while. I appreciate any thoughts or experiences folks are willing to share.
Cheers.

Weight fluctuation is a part of life and everyone experiences it. I have a lot of jeans and some of them are only worn when I’m skinnier others when I’m ahem’bigger. A few are in the middle.
If you’re motivated to do so you’ll lose the weight at some point. On that basis I would pick out a few pairs you especially like and sell the rest in order to pick up some larger pairs for the here and now.
This is a decent place to sell. You avoid a lot of admin crap, extra feed etc. it is dependent on good will and honesty but 99.9% of the time that works. The only downside is that there are less eyes than you would get on eBay or Grailed. I only sell here but lots of folks sell on multiple platforms.

Thanks @neph93. That seems like a good suggestion. I don’t really want to get rid of the Momotaro 10th anniversary jeans or the Roy Peanut jeans. These also happen to be cuts with a generous top block which means I just need to reduce the waist.

I second what @neph93 said. You know yourself better than anyone so you've got the honest answer on whether those pounds will come off…. And maybe getting back into some of those favorite jeans is the motivation you need.
With regard to selling I have had generally good experience with Grailed but even better with the IH forum, albeit with less eyes on the gear. Personally, I'd post the jeans you won't feel bad parting with on Grailed as well as a link to them on here in the Buying/Selling section of the forum. And maybe offer to take a better deal to a forum member than what you have stuff listed for on Grailed.
Best of luck with the weight loss!
