IHSH-292-IND - 18oz Vintage Selvedge Denim CPO Shirt - Indigo

Rocking my 292 today! Love this shirt!!
Jackpot. What size you get in this @Memphisakers so I know to go one size up?!
-
@Dans That is a Medium. For reference it is my only medium shirt that I can still wear and after a warm hand wash that is over a T shirt only.

Just got mine, great fit. It's exactly what the website says, the measurements are a hair bigger than the 293-OD, both size large. Both fit great. I go for vintage fades, though, so I'm gonna throw it in a hot soak to start it out (and reset the messed up collar from shipping) so maybe it'll come back down to the OD's measurements, and I'll see what kind of shrinkage it gets. Either way, I promise I'm going to stop now, with the 33, 292 and 293 all finally locked into my collection.
Hey Rydor was how much shrinkage did you get out of your hot soak?

Little late to the party but snagged a large. I wear a medium in everything but sized up for a layering piece. Sleeves are long but with a cuff it works. Definitely a beast of a CPO
-
Also like to add the the 18oz vintage denim is my favorite I’ve had yet from IH, some beautiful stuff

Sweet shirt, but there is something very pleasing to the eye about that doorframe. Would be a great door to walk into your living room every day to relax.

Awesome thread! And my favorite shirt. I use it constantly now. Did a ‘Carharrt Detroit jacket’
Trick with the long sleeves, and got a shoemaker to hammer inn new cuffs, so they’re tight and perfect. I have an XL, shoulders are 50cm and the buttons are beasts. Best shirt ever!

epic ….
definitely my shirt for work next winter -
I own both IHSH-292-IND and IHSH-293-OD.
My upper body is rather skinny; the OD version fits like a glove (I love to wear it like a shirt). However, the 292 (though close in inch to the OD one / small variations here and there), I find it a bit loose (not much, works better on top of a thermal shirt / hoodie than as simple shirt over a t-shirt). I also wear it on top of my military serge or wabash.
Both are size S. Has anyone tried to shrink the 292? I tried hot soak / not much)?
I am following up the re-stocks and will go for an XS, that is for sure! These are just incredible pieces!
[PS: does anyone have any experience with IHSH-177 / size wise?]

Both these shirts started the same. The 293 is taken from the same batch of shirts as the 292. While there is often small differences in sizing within a batch, the difference you notice is mostly due to the overdying. It is an extreme process in terms of heat, agitation and chemical reaction and removes all shrinkage from the fabric.
QED, there is shrinkage in the fabric, however you will find it very hard to replicate the OD process without access to industrial hardware. The closest you’ll get is a 90C wash followed by a tumble dry. While this should result in shrinkage, I would fear for the negative affects. You’d be fortunate to avoid marbling and/or abrasion lines.
If I recall correctly, the 177’s came up larger than than the 292’s. Broader in the shoulder and wider in the waist.

I appreciate the insights!
I wouldn’t try to replicate the OD process and risk ruining a beautiful shirt!I’ll just wait for a restock on XS. Thanks again
