IHWE-MRLOU-BLK - Wesco® - 10" Horsehide Pull-On "Mister Lou" Engineer Boot - Black
-
…I second that question!
-
Just wanted to make sure Chesson & Co. hadn’t suffered some sort of industrial boot-related accident:

Nice. Cheers Alex.

How does the Maryam differ from the previous horse? From pictures elsewhere it looks more shiny and I think I read somewhere it might fade to tea core more quickly than the previous hide? Looking forward to seeing these.
-
@Nkwkfld you are right in both parts, the Maryam is shinier and it will age quicker. Horweens HH was chome and veg-tanned, meaning it was very reluctant to fade/age. Maryam's leather is just veg tanned. From what I have been hearing from Wesco, the Maryam hides are a lot cleaner. They are turning up with a very minimal amount of defects/scaring in comparison to Horweens.
I have just got off a call with @Chris at Wesco and these are going to be on their way to us VERY shortly. We will keep you all posted.

Thanks @Chesson that's all good news

The new version of this boot will be launching later today. First post updated, and new build details listed below.
The 10" pull-on black Wesco Engineer boots are back. In an all new full veg tanned Maryam Horsehide. All other features of the "Mister Lou" remain the same, in the way of a Dr. Sole half outsole and heel, 1 1/2" heel, and solid nickel roller buckles.
Named after Wesco boots' very own workshop pup, the "Mister Lou" horsehide pull-ons are a true ode to thoroughbred boot making. Built on the Motor Patrol 1339 last, with a streamlined leg shaft designed to fit under slim-cut jeans, a narrowed heel pocket to help eliminate heel slip, vintage Engineer triple upper stitching, and solid nickel hardware. These boots are man's best friend.

They look great. Would get if I didn't need a custom lasted pair.
-
I got a very similar pair from another retailer last year. They were listed as Maryam Teacore Horsebutt. Look extremely similar to these, even down the the subtle pattern you can see in the hide. Curious if these happen to specifically be horsebutt as well?
I love my pair. Have way too many pairs of boots, all of which have been neglected since I got the Mr. Lou. I wear these nearly every day.

I’m kinda glad I waited to get these. This new horsehide sounds fantastic! Pics next week…

Grabbed the last pair of 9D
Hope I didn’t need the E but I never have beforeSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have never worn engineer boots before and now looking to get a pair of this.
Currently, My foot is about 25.5cmL and 10cmW. I'm wearing Redwing Beckman Flatbox in 8D but I still have a little bit tight in width (my pinkie) that makes me feel not really comfortable when using it in a long time.
Is it ok for me to get Mr.Lou in 8E? or should I go with 8.5E? -
