Are you able to zip it up with that sweater?
Hrmm, I can't recall. At 155lbs now, I am able to zip up the medium Wills over a T-shirt and a large UHF without problems.

@Paul9221 I actually just weighed myself. I’m at 169lbs right now. We really should become roommates and share a wardrobe!! Haha. Then I can wear “our” wills jacket now!!!
Ha! I'm feeling some Lemongrab vibes right now

After owning XL and XXL Wills jackets I settled on the larger size. The fabric is too thick and heavy to size down in my opinion. Also mind the sleeve length, as the fabric creases at the elbow the length will decrease so consider the long option if you’re lanky.
That being said I have held onto my XL Long OG Cone Mills denim Wills jacket even though it’s just in a bag in my closet. I’m not usually sentimental with clothes but that was my first Ship John purchase back in 2017.

Good info @Palmer between the long ass wait and the inability to exchange of the sizing is off…it’s a bit of a high pressure situation. Haha.
I’m curious…anyone have any experience/ thoughts on how the newer lines version compares to the V1? Haven’t read much input on that factor.

@Mizmazzle Lemongrab is brilliant! You really need to watch Adventure Time. At one point, he is given a twin of himself. They do everything together. Then finally they start hating each other because they don't share well. Lemongrab ends up eating the twin. It's disturbing and hilarious all at once
As for the sizing, if you go back and look at Brock's posts, he sized to get good mobility. My large fits me like his.
I can throw that thing over the beefiest of my sweaters and it still works. I forget who said it, I think maybe Jett, but the Wills jacket does seem to run one size larger than IH jackets. The Wills L fits me like an IH-526PJ XL.The medium fits more trim and looks better. The medium looks good over a UHF or a t-shirt. The large over a t-shirt looks ridiculous, but looks fine over a heavy sweater.
Anyhow, I think I'm starting to repeat myself. I look forward to having this discussion with you repeatedly over the next 2.5 years

Something I did and worked out great: I purchased a Ship John shirt before my Wills jacket got made. Confirmed sizing with the shirt, the crew said to take the same size. Sizing for the jacket worked out perfect.
Ofcourse, you'll have to shell out extra for the shirt but it will give you some ease of mind.

That’s an excellent point @bbtns
I did just snag one of their Henley thermals in medium and it fits perfect for how I like em. Not really the same as a full on shirt but perhaps some type of barometer.
Yes, I think if you give this as a reference point the crew will be able to size you correct for the jacket.

What can people tell me about how much sleeve length I can really expect to lose to stacking on a Wills? My arms are proportionally short compared to my chest and shoulders, so I need an XL to be able to wear anything other than a t-shirt under it. I'm in G16 for delivery next year, but want to dial in my measurements. I'm definitely getting it shortened to a length I know will work for me, but I'm a little stuck on the sleeves. Thanks!

@Paul9221 similar to you with the weight loss in that I’m down from 175 to 155…. do you feel you could size down to the small now or still happy w the medium?

I grabbed one last night. I’m excited for it, I’m a pretty big fan of vests and I wear my wills all the time so it should be a win
