Wax Treasure (Vinyl)

I just recently sold a really valuable record on Discogs. Those fucking fees are such a kick in the balls!
Which one did you sell?
-
Clarence Greenwood Recordings
Interesting - I know his music mainly from radio play when I was younger.
Do you collect anything older? Like 60s 70s ?
-
Yeah. I love Punk. I’ve got a bunch of first pressings from The Ramones, The Cramps, Misfits, Dead Boys…the list goes on and on haha. I’ve gone some original Link Wray pressings that are pretty rare. I’ve got all the classic Pink Floyd’s first Japanese pressings. Bunch of stuff. How about you? Sounds like you’re into some emo stuff. Any other genres?

I definately have a soft spot for 90s since I remember it the first time around but the vast majority is probably in the 1964-1974 time frame.
I'm a sucker for the late 60s in almost any genre - with a lot of my favorites in that era the nice original pressings are bit out of reach though
I've got a wife and kids so as much as I'd love to own the og mono pressing of pet sounds or oddesy and oracle by the zombies(with the original overdub horn section on "this will be our year") I also would like to be able to provide the basic necessities and entertainment for my offspring ….
I'm more likely to buy an IH shirt or jacket and spend $30 on a good re-issue of a classic album - this is the source of hours of heated (but very much good natured) arguments with friends who also share my lust for denim and vinyl

Haha. Oh you don’t have to explain it to me. Between records, stereos, fly fishing, boots, denim, jackets and a now growing love of watches!!! Holy cow! Haha. I haven’t been buying a ton of records lately. But I find as the weather cools down I tend to listen to them more.
My lady and I had a great night last night and listened to about 5 records back to back and drank whiskey. Great way to spend an evening.

I came upon this record by chance while looking for a copy of a brian wilson song that glenn cambell recorded.
Turns out tasturo yamashita covered it which led me to this album…arguably pretty damn close to elevator music - exotica through the lense of 1978
The players are pretty much the all stars of that era in pop
Yamashita, sakimoto, hosono etc...set me in motion to relisten to happy end, ymo and now I'm on the hunt for city pop vinyl

@Mizmazzle haha, I only seem to buy records for the covers now!

Love Rufus!
