@Filthy:
It's strange to me that certain material things like these jeans mean so much to me. Like I'm completely obsessed with all the details of the different pairs of jeans and clothes I have, and I fantasize about and loathe the fear of losing them or having to sell them. But most of the time my life is completely worthless to me. I often think about how great it would be to go to sleep and not wake up. But then I think about the awesome spring flannels IH is going to have next year, and what the evo on my jeans will be in a year from now. And could I possibly manage to keep wearing the same pair of jeans without having to buy something new to be obsessed with and fall in love with again, all over.
I can complete relate to this, and it's amazing to hear somebody articulate this as eloquently as you have done. 2022 hasn't been the greatest year for me either, but the love I have for clothing gives me something to genuinely look forward to every day. I came home from work yesterday evening, showered, put on my 21oz jeans and a nice stiff western shirt, and felt so content and cosy.
I have a feeling that rugged and heavy clothing have the same effect on me as weighted blankets have for some people.

@t9420 there's something to that. I read this back in August.
The article is lousy with ads so I screenshotted it. But here's the link: https://www.forbes.com/sites/marshallshepherd/2022/08/05/is-there-science-behind-why-teens-wear-hoodies-in-summer-heat/

I've long suspected myself to be on the Autistic Spectrum but have opted against going down the route of diagnosis for personal reasons. The above makes perfect sense to me. I've previously spoken about it with a friend who has been diagnosed, and although she finds comfort in more light and breezy garments, completely understands why I find the opposite to be therapeutic.

@Filthy:
I apologize for always going off-topic and always being so sappy and introspective.
Never any need to apologize for this. It's 100% my mode, too. Being sappy, introspective, or any kind of general vulnerability is a plus, if you ask me. It's evolved, modern, and responsible.
Also how could anyone not get obsessed with the lovely details of these clothes we're into? They're the raddest!

Really started to get some decent fades on these.They look like they will have a ton of vertical falling. Already getting some on the knee area.
-
My virgin patch isn't so virgin any longer. I gave these a full blown hand wash yesterday. I gave it a red wing boot oil treatment afterwards because it was very stiff.
I can't wait to get cleaned up and get them back on.
-
Thanks man. I noticed the mum's on the way out to the usual shooting sidewalk. I figured the color was a pretty close match. I love this time of year!
They are so soft and stiff from being washed. That ivory soap works really well.
-
Last night was like the World Series of Flatulence so I'm briefly airing these out while I do my chores.
I'm enjoying these jeans quite a lot.
-
The color of this denim is so amazing
-
I'll say! Damn those are some lovely shades of blue :o
-
Electric blue all over @Filthy looks nice!

So these breathe better than the xhs but do they breathe better than the 21oz?
I think I remember reading that the 19oz indigo/black did not breathe better than the 21oz because it was denser.
-
@Giles Thank you, Giles! I think I'm going to try them in the 888. But I'll wait until next week when I'm in London.
-
I am not even sure that they breathe better than the 25oz. They certainly don't feel lighter that the 21oz although they should be. Maybe tighter weave? Not sure. They actually stay stiffer than anything else I tried and i like that. Its a very beautiful fabric.

@Filthy:
I'm going to give my 634-19L a rest for a couple months until I get my 25XHSib similarly broken it… The 19L are broken in perfectly just the way I love them. So I want to go easy on them now. I washed them again yesterday so they are extra stiff.
@GardenState these are 19 oz but they are very substantial and feel deceptively heavy and stiff. They don't breathe at all.
-
@Filthy That's what I was afraid of. I love the looks of the 21oz denim the weave looks very large and I guess loose because of that. These look like they have a much smoother face. Once we move much further north I'll be able to really wear the heavy heavyweights.

Inspired by Mike’s posts about these jeans I decided to grab a pair. I’m blown away, the fabric is so intense and rigid, and the colour so deep and inky.
I’ll upload some pics when it’s daylight, but I think I’m a 634 convert. I’ve been on the fence about trying them for some time - dunno why but I always thought they wouldn’t shit my shape, but actually I think they might be the best IH cut I’ve tried so far. Really very happy to own a pair of these!
