IHSH-222-IND - 5oz Selvedge Cotton Linen Chambray Work Shirt - Indigo
-
Will there be a restock of the short sleeve or the western in this fabric?
-
This arrived today. It's really nice. The material is quite to my liking with the some of the irregularities of linen. If you live in a hot climate this is a must have shirt! If this was brought back in red next season it'll be an instant buy for me.
-
Picked up one of these over the holidays for the hot California weather.
The shirt is bittersweet for me - the fabric and fit is great but the button placket is a major disappointment.
Wether it is due to the linen or the size of the buttonholes, the buttons just won't stay in place.
The holes become loose after a day and the shirt won't stay buttoned.
Never had this issue with any of my IH shirts.
If the button placket were thicker or reinforced this wouldn't happen as far as I can tell. -
The button issue is present in all of the lightweight Iron Heart button up shirts I own. Either the button size needs to increase or the hole needs to be smaller. Definitely a big bummer considering the price.

Yeah I agree, for that price this should not be an issue, especially not from a brand like Iron Heart that has a reputation of making sturdy over engineered garments.
Pretty major bummer to be honest.

If I'm not mistaken, this is a known issue and will be taken into consideration in future production runs… by increasing button sizes by 1mm if my memory serves me well enough?
Given typically slimmer body types, it is apparently a non-issue in IHs native Japan, but I agree that small changes could benefit the growing western customer base. I am often left frustrated by the buttons on my 9oz flannel

If this is from a production run subsequent to the changes, then we know we need to make further adjustments

Hi, is there any chance for XXL size replenishment or not going to happen soon as there are other sizes still available? Thanx.
-
@Alex I just received the 5.5 in XXXL, same issue, buttons are barely functional, true, it's quite tight in the chest. I can see the issue about them coming undone. I have to return the shirt.
-
@Bustdnukles thanks for the feedback. I have a sample lightweight chambray where we are testing a new placket design to try and fix this, if it works we will roll this out for future runs of this (and other lightweight chambrays)
-
@Alex should we assume this is an issue with all? Was about to place an order (xxxl) but if it’s an actual problem, I’ll just wait it out.
-
@iammortalcombat yeah, it will be the case for any IHSH-222 made to date. That said, we have sold a hell of a lot of them, and it only affects some people. If you have a larger chest, or you're looking for a slim fit, then that would exacerbate the issue

All good. I stacked one last night. Worst case, I can add a stitch or upsize the button.
