IHJ-69 - Corduroy Modified Type III Jacket - Black and Khaki

And I thank you for that. It's already packed for my next job in Baltimore.

@ROman great fit bud. Well done

Thanks Matt.

Thank you, Paul!
I'm just nitpicking, I'm sure it's only noticeable in upclose pictures anyway, but Scotty brought it up earlier and I noticed it again today. Def the seam and not a folded crease, GC–as its matches the top of the internal pockets exactly.
Also think its magnified from the magic wand color enhacment. Here's a buttoned unretouched....
I see what you mean. Wabi-sabi and all that. Would a steamer smooth out the fabric? I have no idea how corduroy reacts to steam but it might be worth a try, otherwise, I personally don't think it's that big a deal. I get it though, we're all a nitpicky bunch so it's hard not to notice inconsistencies.

I looked at mine tonight and it has the crease from the internal pockets. But, it doesn't bother me at all and I don't see it as a defect or something that takes away from the jacket. There's a 99% chance no one would notice it out in the wild anyway. Still a fave for sure

Think it's more noticeable on the Beige vs the others, but agree it's a minor quibble and not an issue in action in the wild.
Bottom line the jacket is an absolute stunner!

Agree. The ihj-69 uses a thinner fabric too. I'm sure if we looked hard enough at the brown and black variants we'd notice it in person. My SExIH od type III has interior pockets and those aren't noticeable at all. Either way, i'll finally get a chance to wear mine over the weekend as it's supposed to get into the 50's/60's.

I haven't noticed the issue on mine but will check tonight. I'd have thought it might have been a packing fold, which I have on most jackets, I think even without pockets.
As for the pockets, I like the inner section for my phone, but never use the hand pockets as they would just bulge out and spoil the lines. Maybe we could have a version with just inners?

I like both the interior and exterior pockets personally.

I'm pretty certain it is just a packing fold.

That's what I assumed too, but it is the interior pocket. I pulled mine out of the closet lastnite to see if mine had the crease and it did. Actually, I hesitate to call it a crease because it's more of an indentation. When the interior pocket pushes up against the corduroy fabric it bulges out a little, but when you pull the interior pocket away from the fabric the indentation goes away. The corduroy isn't very thick so I think this is why it gives it that appearance.

Such a great jacket, perfect for our crazy springs in the Midwest

I may be wrong, but I have always believed the lack of pockets is why the previous iteration of this jacket didn’t sell. I probably would have passed without pockets… unless Haraki comes out with some nice leather gloves.

you mean like these
But you're right, I likely would've passed on the 69 if it didn't have hand warmer pockets.

As for the lines, i think it's definitely the pockets. My 526-sbg, 9526V and 69 all have lines directly at the top of the interior pockets, whereas my 526J and 101J don't. I can't say it bothers me, but it reinforces my preference for the jackets without pockets.
The fact that it wasn't a big enough deal to even think about it before makes me realise how insignificant it is.
-
Exactly. I would have never noticed it had it not been mentioned. Even after it was mentioned it took a bit of looking for me to spot them.
-
I would've worn mine today but the temps this morning were freezing. I wore my SExIH od type III instead with a uhf underneath and I was still cold. A couple more days and I can finally take her out for a spin

That was impeccable timing.

the black variant is up at SE now. Digging the orange stitching inside the jacket
