IHSH-203 - Ultra Heavy Small Block Check Western in Red and Green
-
In between the swatches being previewed and these pics, this design has grown on me enormously. IHUK pics and in the wild shots reveal it’s true glory.
Completely agree.

Ultra heavy is definitely overkill for my neck of the woods, but that green is hard to resist.

They make great jackets for early mornings/late evenings in warmer climates (allegedly, personally I have no idea… )

Uhf's, to me, are so warm that it's like wearing a thick blanket over your body. Perfect for freezing temps. I don't wear mine if it's in the mid 30's or above, but everybody is different and some wear these in higher temps. Depends on what your cold tolerance is.

True about the individual temp tolerances. I don’t even know what uhf’s feel like, looks like I may just have to buy one to test it out..

Not unusual for the odd S to show up in the Outlet. Pick one up there to try out. I don’t know what evening temps are like in Hawaii but it may work out as an layer on a cold evening.
Two things though, they are so gorgeous in hand that you may be tempted to leave Hawaii for Alaska, and they shrink in a hot wash if you need them to.

@RoxRocks86 FWIW I am in Phoenix, Az and I own many UHF's. As others have stated it's all about the individuals tolerance. I get cold very easily and I can say that I will wear my UHF's up into the mid 60's-70's F.
-
Also @RoxRocks86 IIRC you own one of the 10oz unbrushed flannels yeah? The IHSH-170 I think? Anyway, if you can tolerate wearing one of those in Hawaii then I don't think it's a stretch at all to say you can tolerate an UHF in the colder months. To be fair I have no clue how cold it gets in Hawaii though.

I only have one unbrushed flannel and that's the 129. In my experience the unbrushed flannel doesn't have the same thermal properties that brushed flannel does. I can wear the 129 in hotter temps because it doesn't make me warm the way my uhf's do. But, as @neph93 pointed out, uhf's can serve as a decent top to wear during those chilly mornings or evenings.

Thanks everyone absolutely appreciate the feedback. Temps right now are around 60’s in the mornings and evenings. I’m comfortable using the 193 or 195 as a shacket in those temps, but come right off when it reaches 70. This past “winter” temps hovered in the 50’s-60’s throughout the day. It’s windy where I live so it always feels chillier. Seems like a uhf could be useful during that time.
@manufc10 thanks for your comments. Definitely helped!
@gaseousclay always wondered what the difference was between brushed and unbrushed, thanks for explaining that.
@neph93 you know, moving doesn’t sound so farfetched when you just want to wear awesome clothes for more than a hot minute!
@rocket did that dude wear his uhf in the Hawaiian summer?

Unlikely @RoxRocks86 since a further investigation just showed that the guy in question wasn’t living in Hawaii at all, sry I’m stupid and old….
Maybe on chilly hoolio days a UHF could work as a option. Or if you plan to hang around Mauna Kea... -
It’s ok grandpa I forgive you. If Mauna Kea erupted while covered in snow, would it still be uhf weather?
-
When's the expected fairytale release date for these? I haven't treated myself to a UHF in 2 years… the green is probably the best UHF i've ever seen.

Sorry guys, I found this and answered my own question. I'm sure it's annoying when I ask these questions because I don't take the time to read everything in the forum.
