@supremegonzo This is personal opinion, based on my experience, but I've come to the conclusion after five years of trying different fits and ways of sizing that you need to fit the waist first and foremost.
If the waist doesn't fit the jeans don't fit. If the waist fits but the other measurements don't work (thigh being the main problem for me) then the cut isn't right for you. After that it is all a matter of taste. My point being if you have to fit these by the thigh, not the waist I'd wait for the 888 version
Caveat: a correct fit on the waist for me, includes everything from being able to wear without a belt, up to a sensibly belted waist. If you can fit two fingers comfortably inside your waistband, it's too big.

Copped! Happy hunting everyone! Back in the 25oz game! Biggest regret was getting rid of my Pronto Indigo tapered jeans, these should fill that void very very nicely!

Did I need a new pair of jeans? No. My 18 oz 555s are on track to last for all of eternity at their current rate… 15 months in and still at zero repairs. Still got these though. Only 2 pairs in a 30, so I couldn't wait once they were live. I think this will be the pair that finally pushes me to cycle jeans, rather than just wearing one pair all but one day a month for 2 years.

+1 to all of this. I completely agree. I've had much trial and error over the past few years. If the waist doesn't fit, then the jeans don't fit. If the jeans have to be sized up to accommodate the thighs, then it's probably not the right cut. Saying that, to each their own. Everyone can wear their jeans sized how they like

Gah, so nice. Might have to see about selling off some other pairs to make room in the closet…
