IHSH-237-BLK - Ultra Heavy Flannel Crazy Check Western Shirt - Black

Ooh yeah. Glad to see a good spread of vendors getting this shirt [emoji41]
I assume it's one of the biggest - if not THE biggest - UHF releases when looking at how many retailers have jumped on the bandwagon. The shirt is a future classic for sure.
I'm pretty sure it was the most popular item in terms of volume from the F/W19 collection!

I'm gonna lose sleep not being able to decide between an M and L
[/quote]If you’re inbetween go big and do a hot (60C) wash. Be sure you can afford to lose length before you do this.
True, I was thinking about that since people say that it can shrink up to half a size. I guess the main measurement that is stumping me is the shoulder width which seems to be larger than what I'm used to. I reckon the length will be okay since I'm not a tall fellow. Thanks!

If I understand, you’d normally be an L but you’re considering going down because of a wider shoulder? Tricky. The risk in my mind would be that a smaller chest could be a problem. Shoulders settle in regardless but too small a chest can really affect the look of the shirt.

It's actually the opposite… I can't really say what I'm usually since I only have a couple of shirts (62-IND and 07) which are both size M. The L in this shirt seems to be the most similar in all measurements except for the shoulder width which is a tad bit wider. I reckon I should be good with the L size even if it shrinks slightly as the M size may be teetering on the edge of being too snug if frequently washed. Excited to finally have the opportunity to own a UHF shirt! Having one would most likely help me understand future sizing haha
Thanks for your help/input

I’ll definitely be picking up one of these. I purchased two UHFs today from the outlet, this one will make seven total, one to wear each day of the week [emoji119]. That’s a good thing since I live in Alaska [emoji3587]

There may be some slight variation so you're welcome to ask the guys in the packing area to hunt for the smallest shoulder measurement (dependent on availability!)
I usually take an M in UHF's despite being a S in most of my IH shirts. Reason is 1) You can get shrinkage if you need to. 2) Can wear them as an additional layer so can afford a bit of extra room in the shoulder if you're layering etc

Sizing up is probably the better option. I’m usually a size large with UHF’s but with weight gain and variances in measurements I’ve moved up to xl. So basically I’m between sizes right now. If I choose to wash my large UHF’s I’ll likely do a cold water soak with no agitation to avoid shrinkage.

I'm very excited for this shirt. Looking at the measurements i think i could make the western work, but i'll be looking at the measurements of the work shirt before making my decision.

@neph93 @AdamJ @gaseousclay Cheers! Great info—I'll be nabbing the L when it's available.
