IH-888-XHS - 25oz Selvedge Denim Medium/High Rise Tapered Cut Jeans - Indigo
Our high rise relaxed tapered cut jean in our indigo 25oz denim. Woven with an indigo rope-dyed warp and a natural weft, this ultra heavy denim is at the limit of what can be made. Super-stiff when new and requires some "breaking-in"- with time and wear it becomes soft, pliable and very comfy.

Weight on. I'm in. See you on Friday Space Cowboy.

On my XHSib, I only got about 0.5" of shrink on the inseam. Has anyone gotten much more than that on unwashed? Going to be hard to get these hemmed around these parts with the whole state on lock-down.
I got 0.5" on my 666-XHS when washed at 30c and then an additional 0.5" when washed at 60c.
You are always welcome to take them unhemmed, wear them and wash them how you intend to get the shrinkage out and send them back in for us to hem them. You will just need to cover the cost of shipping.

It was somewhere between half an inch and an inch on my 634-XHS

Hey Graham, that's not a bad idea. Thanks!
I think I'm going to play it semi-safe and ask for a 32.5" hem (ideal inseam after all's said & done is 30.5"). Even if I get that 1" shrink and 0.5" of comb-shrink, I'll be covered but it'll still be short enough to wear without 8" cuffs

Thanks for letting me know!

I'm in! I'm guessing that since I got the 888 XHSib, and the 888s in 31 (thanks for the guidance on those 21oz, everyone. I thought I would need 32 but the 31s stretched perfectly in the waist) that 31 is the right call with these bad boys.
Gonna have the unholy trinity of the 888s.

Probably, but use this function to check, taking account of predicted shrinkage/stretch:

And when they say breaking in they mean your fingers.

@neph93 thanks! They're almost identical. Maybe slightly larger in this iteration. I think I'll prevail upon whoever I hook up with IH pre shipment and see if they can measure a pair out with a smaller waist.
@steelworker truth. Trying to get the XHSib on the first time was an adventure!

I'm surprised that this thread is so quiet!
Well, I'll report in. I got very little shrinkage on my pair. I let them soak in the hottest water I can get out of my tap for a couple of hours, drained the water, filled it again, let them soak for a couple of hours, then line-dried them. Once dry, I did another hot soak and line-dried again.
pre-soak
-
waist: 32.5"
-
thigh: 12.75"
-
inseam: 32.75"
post-soak
-
waist: 32.0"
-
thigh: 12.6"
-
inseam: 32.25"
I haven't actually put them on yet because of how long it takes to line-dry these LOL. The voyage begins tomorrow!
