Y’2 Leathers….
-
@Anesthetist Awesome man! Thanks for your help and encouragement !
This is a pickup unlike any I’ve had in a LONG time. This will be worn to/from the gym, to walk the dog, out to nice dinners, on the moto, to my beloved Browns games, etc. the only thing it “might” share time with is that indigo type 2. Finger is hovering over the buy button as we speak.
-
@Autorotate wow great fit! congrats - it suits you well. Wow even all that packaging is epic
-
The indigo is unreal, I have a Henry in the Western Shirt and really love it. If money were no object I’d have 3-4 of them!
-
Toying with the idea of a Y2 or a Double Helix BUT just come across these guys.. https://shangrilaheritage.it/
Shangri-La Heritage..some lovely pieces but cant get much info on them. Anyone know anything about these?
-
Heavily influenced by @Anesthetist I couldn’t leave well enough alone and had to double down on some Y’2 leather. @endo gets some credit too, for my spiral… ala his indigo jacket over in the Double Helix thread.
Words can not do justice to this jacket. The smell, the weight, the deep deep dark navy blue color. I’m totally digging it.
Fitment wise it’s perfect for me (happy to receive fit checks!) I am hoping for it to “open up” in the shoulders. In plain English, I am unable to lift my arms up high enough to either fold the collar down or pop it up - when the jacket is being worn. But sized any larger, I don’t think it would look right. Don’t get wrong… I think it’s just the nature of the beast. I indeed have technical jackets - if arm mobility will be called for on that particular day. But this jacket will do perfectly fine on a motorcycle, which I am planning to do once the spring rolls around.
-
Well done! Funny enough, I bought mine in a similar time frame and have no regrets. My jacket is much the same about the shoulder, but it will get a little better. I cant wait to see how it breaks in, it is such a cool jacket.
-
Great looking jacket and a fine fit @Autorotate !!
I already have way more jackets than I can wear living here, so the more jackets I buy, the stronger case I build to move elsewhere colder, right?
-
@motojobobo dude, I was “banished” to SoCal for years. Could never enjoy my leathers, my wool sweaters… and for that matter XHS was out of the question!
No complaints having moved back to the Midwest. The weather always makes it nice to layer up!And thanks for the nice feedback about the fit!
-
looking super @Autorotate such a wonderful jacket (and same here with the shoulders, but we have to suffer a bit for our beauty)

X-post

Anybody have the OLIVE ECO HORSE HIDE WESTERN SHIRT ES-13 from The Shop Vancouver? I’ve been a selvedge denim guy since 2010 and thinking about diving into the Japanese leather world for something new.
-
@coldcashandcolderhearts just recently there was a size 40 on Grailed. Too small for me, looks to be in great shape. If you get one, post it up, I want to get your impression!
-
@Autorotate will do. It’s a pretty big financial pill to swallow. Quality over quantity though.
-
@Autorotate that indigo tho. Nice jacket dude. I’m on the fence between the blue and the green Y’2 western shirt… leaning towards green.
-
@coldcashandcolderhearts I don’t think you can wrong.
One of the most aesthetically pleasing aspects of my jacket is the gold stitching over the dark blue leather. And depending on the light, the leather is a totally different color. Almost Black to bright navy blue. -
@Autorotate I’ve been obsessed with this blue version. You may have convinced me to bite the bullet! The fit looks great out of the box too. Can only imagine it’ll get better. Thanks Ford sharing!

Wow , just stumbled on this thread as I didn’t realize there are people as crazy as I am!
I own 2 of the y2 westerns , the camel steer in 44 and the indigo horse in 46 and both are amazing.
The steerhide out of the box has a beautiful feel to it and wearing straight from the box is a joy. The blue ‘Pablo’ horse is so subtle but stiff as horse tends to be . But it’s breaking in super nice. Just took it on a 600 mile weekend ride couple months back.
Sizing ????? Holy shit , definitely take measurements and typical Japanese sizing , I recommend going up a minimum of one size, maybe two depending on your intended use.
Tj at Vancouver is awesome and a pleasure to work with. If you are on the fence on grabbing one …… you will not regret, quality is awesome on these. -
@Anesthetist the 42 seems like a great fit! Not sure how the 40 would have worked out. I’m a typical small so I think a 38 would work for me. I’m on the tall/skinny side. I’ve heard they run a little boxy…but it doesn’t look that way on you.

Got this in the mail earlier this week
-
@Weiserbud killer fit! What size did you go with?
If you’re having difficulties with the buttons, rest assured, they get better with use. I’m now buttoning the wrists every time I wear it. Unbuttoning the wrist for the first time took some finger acrobatics. A little anxiety-inducing… didn’t think I’d get them undone!
