@T4920 Fit is so subjective so generally speaking there's no right or wrong but in my opinion it looks like the 555 cut just isn't the cut for you. That or you might have sized wrong and may need to size down as long as the measurements still work for you if course.
I think you need a decent amount of junk in the trunk to make the 555 cut work. I never rocked the 555 cut over the years but recently I put on some weight with a significant amount being in my glutes and thighs and now the 555 cut is my preferred cut as long as the thigh measurement is on the larger side of its respective tag size.
Just my two cents for what its worth.

@manufc10 appreciate your honest response! I put them through the wash yesterday as per the advice here yesterday evening and after drying all night they feel MUCH better this morning. 666 is my perfect cut, and if I was buying direct that'd always be my choice, but as these were bought from the marketplace I thought I'd roll the dice! Confident I can make them work now they've shrunk to fit
-
@T4920 looks good man
-
@T4920 they look much better now. Glad you got them to shrink up. I dont think I realized you hadn't washed/soaked them yet. That's what I get for not reading the thread thoroughly.
-
that cuff looks familiar @T4920
-
@T4920 toky cuff is always a winner

hey guys, sorry for the noob question and feel free to tell me to FOAD, but doing the intital soak/agitation wont affect the fade potential of these suckers, will it? thanks!
-
@darbycrash No it does not and is a necessary step. Edit (Here is the reasoning): The recommended method with UHR is to soak first, then wash. This because it is loomstate. The soak activates the cotton fibres and embeds the stitching, the wash gets the shrinkage out.
-
@goosehd cool thanks man just wanted to be sure
-
or they could just word the care instructions more specifically in regards to these (the care pamphlet i received only explicitly states this is necessary for the 25oz). i like having the ability to initially soak and wash them myself.
thats cute you think im a "dummy" for asking a question, isnt that a big reason the forum is here in the first place? this was a big investment for me and i plan to wear them for years, so i didnt want to make a jack move.
-
@darbycrash UHR is by far and away the quickest fading IH denim. A soak on loomstate denim is 100 times less aggressive than the industrial machine washing or sanforisation that most so called “raw denim” receives before it hits the shelves.

@darbycrash Thank you for asking your question and yes that is why we are here. Feel free to ask questions whenever you like because at one time we were all new here.

Kasi constantly leaves rude/negative comments all over this forum. Why have mods never stepped in? Such an unwarranted response…

@Kasi said in IH-555S-UHR - 21/23oz Ultra Heavy Raw Selvedge Denim Super Slim Cut Jeans:
Iron Heart has lay out the instruction.
Soak and Wash
But then they your jeans do what you like.
If worry about them you could always keep as they are by not wearing them.
...?
you aren't really making much sense at all. from the looks of it, you weren't able to comprehend my response (perhaps you should read it again, slower this time). i'd wager most would agree you may be taking the title of "dummy" here, little buddy.

nice, good to know. also, that's interesting, never thought to try and dig deeper on what industrial sanforization processes looked like really.
i dug up as much info as i could about the UHR's and the necessity of the inital soak before asking the fading question, but am a little OCD maybe, so just wanted to get verbatim answers to things i was wondering about before i got started that i couldn't find already discussed. i appreciate it.

The care guidelines that should have been included in your package are the same ones found here:
https://www.ironheart.co.uk/content/product-care-guidelinesHere is the paragraph about raw (UHR) denim:
Raw Denim (by "raw" we mean the fabric has not gone through any post-weave processing at all) -raw
denim is sometimes referred to as "loom-state".
Iron Heart raw fabrics are: 21/230z Ultra Heavy Raw (UHR).
• Soak inside-out for an hour or so in a bathtub or large sink of hot water and drip dry.
• Hand wash, or machine wash on a relatively short cycle (max 40°C/100°F) with low or no spin.
• Shake/stretch item to ensure no creases before drip drying or drying flat on a clothes rack
• Do not tumble dry (this is likely to cause shrinkage and White marks). There is a slim chance you got an old version of this set of care guidelines, and if that is the case I apologise. We update these somewhat frequently, and try to be diligent in removing old ones when we do, but a box may have slipped the cracks.
