IH-555S-18 - 18oz Vintage Selvedge Denim Super Slim Cut Jeans - Indigo
-
Got my pair. This thing is so different from the 555xhsib that I've worn daily for the last 6 months. The fabric is just heavy enough to be an ironheart :), but light enough for the summer. And the 555 when cut right (more generous thigh) is just magical.
Incidentally, this fabric really reminds me of my TCB denim jacket (perhaps the IH just tiny bit slubbier). It's rough and hairy. Can't wait to see the fades.
Oh and shout out the IH crew for help.

Breaking out my 'summer jeans' a week earlier than intended, thanks @George-Homme for the sale a few months ago!
Seem to be cut a tad snugger in the top block than my UHR of the same tag size (34), and although I could definitely make a 33 work for a slimmer fit, I love the way these fit me.
Planning to wash them on a weekly basis for roughly 12 weeks over the summer as a project of sorts, shall update along the way..

Awesome buy & fit looks awesome @T4920

Are these better than the 14oz for the summer? I’m debating on what to do this summer

Summer Denim Project (12 Weeks, 12 Washes)
Week one, post-wash pictures:
Truly in love with this denim. I remember reading that Haraki-San was reluctant to make the 16oz Slubby Denim, I wonder if that was anything to do with the fact that this beautiful fabric was already part of the IH line-up?
The slub is so subtle to the eye, but comes alive when touched! Feel classy as hell in these, and i'm looking forward to seeing how they evolve over the summer.

Summer Denim Project (12 Weeks, 12 Washes)
Week three, (4th wash, spaghetti accident, don't ask...) post-wash pictures:
Reached 30°c (86°f) in the UK last week, and these were still very wearable. The thicker, slubby yarns are really starting to shine through, giving a lovely, but subtle 'raindrop effect' to the fabric.
For the last 15 years, I've never ventured or outside the 'wash your jeans as little as possible' camp, but since joining this forum I've come to appreciate the denim itself, rather than the intensity of the fades we're able to project upon it.
This 18oz Vintage is by far my favourite denim I've ever owned, and I'll commit to wearing these for 3 months each year with weekly washes until they disintegrate.
