I've had a pretty good couple of years thrifting vinyl in my area but nothing Is more demoralizing than when you get to the record shelf and see a bearded dude in new balances, a hoodie and a trucker hat already there (that's the unofficial portland record collector uniform)

Sparks was awesome by the way but I will say even in row D, the sound at Beacon Theatre is not great. Very muddy. Me and the wife had a blast though, danced the whole night. We were like 10 feet from Spike Lee (who by the way, did not stand up or dance!) A couple weeks before that we went up to Boston for two nights of Yo La Tengo at the Paradise. I haven't seen them in a venue that intimate since Maxwell's closed so it was very fun.

I'm waiting on a UPS parcel arriving tomorrow. A good friend of mine from the US had an obscure, short-lived psychobilly band. They put out a 20 year anniversary 10 inch - so I needed a turntable, which had been missing from this household for over a decade now.
Picked one up today, found it locally through classifieds. Started digging through my old punk rock collection from 25 years ago!
