IHJ-80-BEI - Cotton Mix Mountain Parka - Beige

Thanks LewisStonehouse It’s a proper jacket. This was going to be my original hiking jacket. But it’s just so nice I’m not sure I want to thrash it in the woods. Leg is healing. Almost there.
Throwing this picture above so the thumbnail doesn’t show the leg. neph93 if this is too much gore. Feel free to delete. But here’s what my injury looks like now.
It’s basically all scar tissue at this point. Just waiting for the time where I can semi comfortably wear pants. If I don’t wrap it or but a bandage on it. Jeans are just not in the picture. It’s too abrasive on such tender skin. The target date for that by the docs is in 1-2 weeks. So I’m just holding out for a bit more. Also it’s just on that right spot to be touching any fabric so it was a tough place for a wound to heal. At any rate. It was a giant mess prior to this and I’m just glad it’s at a manageable place for pain and mobility. -
Damn!!! Those Zombie bites are intense!!
JK man–--glad to hear you are on the mend.
-
Haha yeah. I called it My Zombie Leg for a while. After the infection swelled up I had a bunch of necrosis (dead tissue) around it. And when the infection was at its highest point I had to walk with a cane. It hurt a lot. Now it it’s barely anything compared to that. 2021 was a tough year in health for me. But I’m still here and kicking it. Once this is back up to speed. I’m going to celebrate my health by hiking so much!

Ah man you’ve been through the ringer. May the wind be at your back going forward dude
-
My amateur detective brain suggests you've intentionally done this to match the bleach spots on your cargos
-
Cant tell if that’s soiling or bleaching
Discoloration aside, what do you think of it? It’s a BEAST of a rain coat!
-
Very happy to say that the stain came out in the wash. I too thought it looked like discolouration/bleaching, as it didn’t appear to be on the surface of the fabric. A 10 minute soak of stain removed and quick 30 minute wash @ 30C and it’s good as new. WONDERFUL jacket, super happy to have it. Will post pics at some point

Started pissing it down here in East London this afternoon, so I was keen to take a walk with the new jacket to test it out.
As others have said above, it’s a bananas fabric - very IH inasmuch as it is super heavy and rigid. The temp here today is 19C, so I was worried I might overheat. Happy to say that this jacket appears to do the magic trick of keeping the water out, without building up the sweat inside. 30 minutes at 19C in a heavyweight jacket could easily lead to a clammy dude, but I felt totally comfortable for the entire walk. When I got home, I was bone dry inside.
Here’s some (wet) fitpics, and the dry boy that emerged.
As with a lot of things IH, I probably won’t ever need to think about buying a rain jacket again, (unless I need something that packs down small). And when the weather gets cold, this combined with an IH hoodie, and/or UHF and IHV-44 will be all I need.

Great fit on that too

@jerkules wet do you know? It looks incredible. Good on ya for fighting the drops in this cloak! Wish I’d gotten this one when it was available. Keep wearing it with pride
-
@Anesthetist thanks buddy, very happy to have this piece.
@Twistlock bet the beige is a beauty too. I love the noise the rain made on the hood, reminded me of camping as a kid.
@denim-dawg thank you mate, I’m looking forward to colder weather with this jacket. Keep an eye out and you might get lucky to snag one

Late to the party but I might buy one of these now. Would be to replace another (brands) mountain parka that’s been in my regular rotation for the last 8+ years!
Unfortunately I’m a little confused about sizing: Sam in size Large…would have thought he/we would have gone with medium. How did y’all size this? @Anesthetist, did you take this in Large too?
