@WhiskeySandwich hell yeah

Request for pics!!! I'm wondering if anyone's been regularly washing their 16oz... I've been keeping mine pretty nasty with daily wear since this dropped and only one soapy soak after camping out. I'm curious how soft this will get and how much it'll lighten. My wife keeps calling this one my "cardboard jacket" and refuses to wear it, opting instead for a UHF lol. I'm holding out as long as possible for sharp fades before picking up a washing routine.

@WhiskeySandwich whiskey my man. This is where I’m at. This is after 1 months wear everyday, I don’t have an especially active job so I’m making up for that with never taking it off. Following Filthy’s Mike advice for honeycombs on jeans I’ve applied that to the short sleeves - spraying the arms with water to help the creases settle in more…

@Mr-Linz dude that thing looks like it’s seen more work than mine. Fades coming in hot!
-
@WhiskeySandwich Thanks mate! Truly committing to this one!

@WhiskeySandwich I have the 08 SBG which may be 10 years old. It does not soften up much. Feel free to do hand washes in the tub and line dry as much as needed. The 16oz SBG is uniquely stiff and stubborn. I imagine over some hardcore wear over time it will. I’ve worn mine for a few seasons in less active situations. So maybe you might experience some Additional softness since you’re wearing it much harder than I am. Hope this helps and happy fading!
-
@Fadez thanks for sharing man, good insight. Maybe the wind hitting it at 60mph for hours on end riding the bike will loosen up those stubborn fibers. Sounds like a good excuse to ride!

Got the funk out with a second soapy soak and rinse. Seeing some stuff starting.
-
@WhiskeySandwich dang
-
@Oaktavia Thanks mate! That's a big compliment coming from you!
-
@WhiskeySandwich Mate you are crushing it! The cuff and edge fades are very nice!
-
This thing seems like it'll end up with high-contrast fades no matter how much I wash. I think its going to happen on it's own. I like this soapy-soak-followed-by-a-rinse routine to keep it fresh, so I'm going to keep doing that when needed. I probably won't keep pushing it until I smell like a deep fryer anymore though.
-
Just about two months and haven’t missed a day yet. Finally had to throw it in the machine.
-
@WhiskeySandwich Mate coming along nicely! I've been afraid to wash mine as I'm scared of losing those high contrast fades in the the sleeves. I'm also two weeks behind you. It looks like the wash has really brought out the white in the fades though... terrific.
-
@WhiskeySandwich PS what kind of activities are you getting up to? I feel like I'm too sedentary, I should get mine out there more.
-
@Mr-Linz man, anything and everything, but I don’t suffer through the heat if it’s too bad. I just keep it on and go about my day. I work indoors but move around a lot. I wear it for yard work a lot and working on bikes - riding motorcycles etc. I just make it a point to keep it on nonstop unless it becomes restrictive or uncomfortable. If it’s funky I soak or wash, depending on severity. Wabi-sabi = oh well, fuck it. Lol
-
@WhiskeySandwich Yeah I'm basically wearing it until I sleep everyday. Never committed so hard to a shirt ever. Is your's softening up? I've found in the last week that mine feels like it's eased a lot.
