Itโs been a wet & windy concrete jungle here. I tend to travel during winter months more than any other time of the yr so finally decided to splurge on some actual winter clothes. Will post what I got from IH once they arrive. But going on a snowboarding trip in Hokkaido next month so giving the MTE-3โs a whirl. Redwings & thick merino wool socks from DARNTOUGH wasnโt warm or dry enough for my comfort the last few trips so giving these a shot. Appreciate your input @WhiskeySandwich
-
@RoxRocks86 thatโs a wild-ass lookinโ knife!
-
@RoxRocks86, no experience with those shoes but plenty with cold feet and skiing. Unsure if it will help you, but I finally learned after many seasons of thick socks that they ended up trapping and retaining more moisture and resulted in cold feet. I know it's semi against the rules in tight fitting ski boots, but I found the thinnest silk liner sock I could find and wore those under the thinnest darn tough ski sock they made. After that, no more problems. On warmer days I'd just wear the silk liners. Dry feet were the key. Some people even go so far as buying spray antiperspirant for their feet before putting on socks. Ymmv!
Lastly, korvid knife?

What a classic beauty.Confente is the Iron heart of bikes
"In the world of vintage bicycles, thereโs beautifully crafted, and thereโs rare, and then thereโs Confente. A name lesser known in the general cycling community but one that elicits a special reverence from collectors and enthusiasts. Confentes are the type of bikes that people tend to wax poetic about. Theyโll call Confente the โHoly Grailโ of vintage bicycles, and draw comparisons to the likes of Stradivari. Perhaps all a bit hyperbolic but, among the hoards of vintage bicycles, Confente frames are truly the rarest of the rare. Their builder, Mario Confente, died at the young age of 34, having produced only 135 frames bearing his name. They command a high price, the combination of rarity, excellent craftsmanship, and perhaps also the drama and tragedy surrounding Mario Confenteโs work and death all working together to drive the value for his frames higher with timeโ

Itโs that weird cold where itโs not that cold but itโs cold enough that it gets to your bones with enough time. So I had to pull out the big guns to warm myself up.
