IHB-11-BLK -Heavy Duty "Tochigi" Leather Belt with Brass Garrison Buckle - Black
-
I've had this almost a year now. Fantastic belt. I love the Chicago screw construction (why is there any other way?), the thick/durable/good looking leather (my ~$100 belts are so puny in comparison), and the functionality of the garrison buckle. Some pants have very little distance between the two front belt loops and the other version of the buckle doesn't work as well in those situations. Garrison may be a little more loud/casual stylistically, but it functions with all my pants.
This past weekend I reduced the length by a couple inches. This is the second time I've done that since I've owned it. The video on the product page gives you the gist, but I'll add some color. If you don't have the leatherworking tools they use in the video, you can use a power drill and drill bit to punch the holes. Can't remember which sized I used but just start small and work your way up. Holes don't look as clean as the video but they get covered up when you screw it back together any way.
It's just awesome to be able to adjust the length as you wear it and it stretches. Can't wait to order the brown version.

Chicago screw construction (why is there any other way?)
Speaking of "other ways," another term for the Chicago screw is "sex bolt."
Don't get me wrong, I love Chicago, but I don't understand why "sex bolt" isn't the "only way" to refer to them.
Then again, the ole "Chicago screw" does sound like an Urban Dictionary entry.

any idea when these will be back in?
-
@scarfmace Should be this week, possibly slide in to next
-
Seems like these did not get a restock? any update?
-
@AdamC any chance these are getting re-stocked at some point? Bought the natural and it’s so good I now need the black
-
Also, anyone with the nickel plated buckle version of this know if the nickel plating wears off to eventually reveal the brass underneath?
-
@Kasi thanks mate
-
Mine has started to reveal the brass but only the top side of the buckle. The bottom side is still as original
-
@yannis thanks for the info! Any chance of a pic? I bet that looks pretty cool

-
It will be nice if the whole thing goes to brass. Looks like 2 tone now
-
@yannis I think it looks good as is! I’m sure the rest will work it’s way off in time too.. thank you for taking the time to take a pic
