At minute 25:02 - 25:15 of the collection reveal live stream video, Alex says: "It takes about a year to make enough denim to make about a 100 of these jackets. So the numbers are gonna be super limited. We are just gonna be releasing a set number globally which is around a 100 in one year".

Quite often limited editions of things are numbered, wether it be bourbon or clothing. Many years ago I had a limited edition 75th Anniversary Schott Bros. Jacket, and while it wasn’t numbered I had a certificate of authenticity stating what number the jacket was, which helped justify the price I was selling it for 15 years later. I think there were some jeans last year that were signed by Haraki and numbered. Thought that was a nice touch that may have contributed to some peoples enjoyment of the jeans. Just a thought.

Your receipt is proof,if you are worried about the price maybe this is not the jacket for you,as I said it is only a number it does not add anything to the beauty of the jacket.

@Jett129 I hear what you’re saying, Jett. I like the idea of numbering limited edition items. Adds a bit of character to the run and makes it feel a little more special.
Further…the idea of a world tour for this jacket would be badass!! I’d love to take a leg. Honestly, at first this jacket didn’t call out to me. Def growing on me more and more.

@Germinal Personally I just removed those from the hem on my M65s, never use them. Kept the drawstrings at the waist though. (Just untie one end and pull it out).
-
@JunkPants this is a good option. Thank you.

I don't think it was s design choice as such, I think it is a nod to the original.
That said, I don't like them flapping around and find them super annoying. So I cinch the hem to the diameter I like (I'm never going to need to adjust it, the way I wear stuff anyway), knot the cord at the cord exit points and then cut off the dangly bits.

A unique and interesting M65 variant....I just registered for an inventory notification!
