Aero Leathers
-
The first question you have to ask is how and when are you going to wear it?
The Ironheart Pale Rider and Big Buck are great leather shirts. You can ride with them, but with the weather getting cooler may need something more substantial. The IHJ-35 is a great jacket and definitely can wear more year round. Sized to layer and you can wear it 3 seasons. Size tighter and it looks great over a t-shirt but you won’t be able to wear it for as long depending on the weather. The type 3 rough out and leather jackets from IH are awesome and very versatile if your looking in that direction.
Then you have to decide on the different leathers; cow, horse, Front Quarter Horse, etc.
I have jackets for all kinds of conditions and moods and it can get expensive very quickly. Also can get into jackets with built in armour/padding for riding conditions. Not trying to steer you away from it, but let you know what you are getting into.

I definitely agree with the above info, but I’ll add the following.
-If you live in the US a new moderately customized Aero is is about $750.. due to the current dollar to pound exchange rates. It’s a great time to buy new.
-Aero have a ready to wear section with jackets and leather choices in many styles… definitely check that out.

** and there is a Big Buck deerskin shirt in XXL sitting in the buy sell section in mint condition at about half off

Aero jackets are good quality and use great leathers, you can't go wrong with an Aero as a first jacket.
Fit is king with leather jackets so be sure to spend some time on looking at measurements and understanding different patterns.

@jiminstitches do I remember correctly, the your natural leather jacket was from Aero? The Highwayman, right?
I've not been able to shake my desire for similar from my head since seeing your pics, so have just messaged Aero about sizing on their Montgomery model.
Looking at this in Unfinished Horsehide;
Very similar to the Highwayman, but I love those unconcealed front pockets.

@T4920 My natural veg tan was from Simmons Bilt, the Tail Gunner!
-
@jiminstitches ah yes, there it is! Have you put much wear on it yet?
-
@T4920 a bit, it’s such a heavy jacket so it’s too warm for it at the moment, But as soon as Autumn comes it’s all I’ll be wearing!
