@weftyarn lookin great man! What’s the belt?
It’s the product of a DIY with @don_pipone and Alex (ruff.de.nimes on IG)
Bought some veg tan leather strips, buckles and Chicago screws.
We even died them with black/brown leather dye.
Was great fun! Here’s the results of us three
These two are mine. Wearing either one of them 90% of the time
-
@Mizmazzle thanks mate. And absolutely agree! I like my „normal“ indigo pairs either brand new or properly faded. They really only start to look great after some proper wear. Not so with these SBGs
-
@weftyarn dude that’s pretty awesome! Love it!
-
Yeah, these are great. I’ve only worn mine 3 times, but they look and feel pretty much perfect. They’ll get a nice workout on my bike commute.
888 21oz is he best for me. Ib, flagship, this, all awesome.
-
Can someone who has worn these a decent amount and who also owns the 21 ib chime in as to whether they soften up over time as much as the 21 ib? Because that’ll make me happy.
-
@drewfonse i think i'm only at 26 wears on my SBG, no washes. my 21ib is at 79 wears i think, no wash. I'd say the SBG is about where the ib was at that timeframe, albeit less fading so far i think. They're softening up and getting a sheen going. the thighs are getting that velvetyness that changes color if you brush it opposite directions and such. I love them both and think they're very similar. ib = sulfur dip weft/ indigo warp, sbg reactive weft/sulfur dyed warp, so imo very close.
-
Very nice, thanks. Just what I wanted to hear, because the ib are so good and comfy. Amazing drape and conformity too.
-
@drewfonse dude i agree. I love my 21ib so dag much, man..... It's hard going OT on my SBG (as much as I love them too) to catch them up. over then next couple months I'll get them on equal wear counts and do a proper comparison.
-
@drewfonse (not only) comfort wise these SBGs are an absolute no brainer
-
26 wears, no washy. They’re starting to look a little greasy, in a good way i think. Seeing hints of gray but nothing much yet, mostly just “bruising” of the dye. Love them as much as my 21ib. Aiming to catch these up to those for an equal wear count comparison.
-
They look excellent @WhiskeySandwich
-
Damn those creases and infancy honeycombs…..so nice
-
@drewfonse @weftyarn These and the 21ib are a great 2-pair rotation for me for all occasions. Both denims are so versatile. I'm def sticking with just these two until they reach the point that they end up too casual for work (which is all but full of holes).
-
Second pair of Iron Hearts ordered from Self Edge today, been wearing the 20th Anni's since the release and stoked to try a different fit and fade to grey is extra icing on the cake! Hope the fit works for me otherwise they will end up on the buy/sell thread. lol
-
They’re great. Hopefully you nail the measurements because the denim itself is straight A
-
I think what I love so much about the 21oz denims in general is the wear to wear difference, literally day to day. I’ve worn these maybe 5 times. And I’m getting the same softening, molding to body without sagging that I got with the flagship 21 and the ib. I think the 25oz is just too rich for my blood. I appreciate the best in class fades over time, but my experience with the 25 has been more of a test of will than anything else. Not my thing.
But the 21 oz, across the board? Pure grass fed butter. So good.
-
@drewfonse Agreed!

@cityofdelusion Update: 16 days of wear later and after I wrote this message, the waist now measures exactly 80cm / 31.5". Compared to the original state and waist measurement (76cm / 30", 21 days ago), the waist has now stretched 1.5".
So, for those that were wondering earlier in this thread or anyone who'll want to know in the future: The waist can definitely stretch 1.5". Also, the denim gradually gets softer which is very nice.
