IHSH-352-BLU - 10oz Selvedge Denim Western Shirt - Indigo Overdyed Blue

Around 25-30 wears in and freshly dried from its first cold wash. Very stubborn and very hard to capture how this looks in person but things are starting to happen..
The wash seems to have made it a much brighter blue too!
-
@Jcaz6996 thanks mate, made the rookies mistake of starting with an OD piece sticking it out though, so comfy with how soft the 10oz is. Do you still have yours?
-
@DeeDee85 wow, that's a lot of progress in only 25-30 wears!
-
@Lowlander thank you, I try to make sure I keep it on for the full day when I get it out

-

Hi all I’ve been wearing my shirt now for 109 days and I’ve been meaning to ask wheres the faded at I don’t know if there hidden under the indigo but was very confused now I’ve seen some progress pictures I’m convinced also what’s your thoughts should wash now or hold out it’s seriously stinky sorry

@Mindfulbiscuit wash that shit!!! I mean shirt!!!
-
@Oaktavia she’s in
-
@Mindfulbiscuit awesome man, and kudos to you for roughing it 109 days before washing. That is far beyond what I could do. I bet your shirt will look different post wash. Please show us when it's dry!
-
@Oaktavia I definitely will hopefully decent results
-
Yeah, a first wash (especially after that many wears!) should take off the loosened indigo. I'm expecting you'll see a noticeable difference. I have nowhere near that many wears on this shirt but can see the faintest honeycombs on the inner elbows which definitely weren't there pre-first-wash.
-
@EdH I feel happier now I’ve washed it and understanding how indigo works is quite interesting so washing before the 6 months rule isn’t always the way to go
-
@Mindfulbiscuit It depends on what you want to achieve! Leave denim too long between washes and you'll have great high-contrast fades, but the grime getting into the fibres will start to weaken the cotton and it might start to fall apart.
My general rule for jeans is at least every 100 wears, but sooner if they get muddied, stained, or smelly.
For shirts, they get a wash as soon as I can still smell my pits after they've had an overnight airing. Otherwise I'll be able to smell yesterday's BO on myself, nevermind what anyone else thinks of the stink!
-
@Mindfulbiscuit that’s going to look very different after a wash!
-
I was hoping for more fades specifically on the arms but I couldn’t hold out any longer
-
@Mindfulbiscuit keep wearing it another 100 days it'll be where you want it.
-
@Mindfulbiscuit looks great man!! Keep raging it!! Those cuffs should give you a little clue as to where you’re headed!!
