@Tago-Mago scrolling through this thread and this album artwork caught my eye, checked it out and this is pretty killer !! You into a lot of metal? Listen to leviathan or lurker of chalice at all?
Edit: am referring to The Ruins of Beverast album

@spleef_oner my forum handle is (somewhat deliberately) misleading. My record collection is mainly metal, with some punk sprinkled in and some odds and ends from various genres. I haven’t listened to either band but will check them out. The latest Ruins of Beverast is pretty awesome, too: https://www.ironheart.co.uk/forum//post/576122

@spleef_oner Purely based on album cover art, I just put this on (digitally) and dig it. Thanks for sharing.

@Tago-Mago right on
leviathan and lurker are both one man bands , different projects by the same guy Jeff Whitehead. Pretty sure there’s only one lurker album but quite a bit of leviathan material , my fav being :

I checked out that new Beverast , is badass , thanks for the link . I really dig that style of blackened doom.

@68degreesorless nice! Glad you dig it. They’re a Zambian band from the 1970s, ahead of their time for sure.

I am not a fan of 180gr LP’s but this two do the show. Really impressed!
Searching now for ‘The Secret Psychedelic Mixes’ on vinyl…

@GraemeE that cover makes me think of Mister Magic by Grover Washington, Jr

@Aetas - yeah, and i find this edition as a documented proof of how good was Gil Norton for Pixies. Listening to demo tapes and the final product its clear that it wasnt just adding dynamics and studio magic to the sound - but focus on the songs and how to make them better.
