IH-634S-19L - 19oz Left Hand Twill Selvedge Denim Straight Cut Jeans

Here is my pair similar fades in the back pocket. Mine is the older v2 version but same fabric.
-
I kind of like them—here are mine

Nice 19L fades
-
scrunch butt syndrome I believe they call it

Will the settle out with wear or is the top block on this pair to big? I don’t have this problem with the 666 cut so I was wondering if it’s that I need to size down or give the fabric time?
-
@bluemantra the 634 has a higher waist than the 666, however my pair did not shrink after a hot soak, as I mentioned it is different from the Lefty jacket

@bluemantra
When you scroll back in this thread, you’ll find fit pics of @jerkules , @yannis and @flannel-slut, and @dinobarnesberlin .
Would say this beautiful fabric needs some time to settle in the top block, but definitely will.
But as always, it is about your preferences.For example I have the 634 in 34,35 and 36 in different fabrics.
This 19L is a size 36 and if I’ll try to wear it like the others, they appear to big in the top block.
Loosening the belt looks way better…
But it is the most comfortable size in this cut.
Sitting and cycling feels perfect for me.
When Mike got my pair first, he immediately thought to size down (thought the same), but was happy with it in comparison.
Perhaps I’ll give them a hot wash sometimes.What a gorgeous fabric the 19L is…

@Aetas I own the 634 19L ver.2 and it has a very small upper block compared to your 634 19L, I got it at a discount some time ago and a size 29 compared to my usual 28 and it is perfect for my tastes (in fact it probably ended up in discount department because that lot had extremely smaller sizes than usual). Congratulations on your pair, I love it

The v2 19L was definitely small. I always wear tag36 on 634 and i had to get tag 38 on those. On the current run the sizes are pretty much consistent with the rest. The fabric is very stiff yo begin with but as @Aetas said it will settle beautifully in time.

Thank you. That was helpful. My 666 doesn’t have that V shaped front crumple for lack of a better description that this tag 31 634 19L has and I love the fabric, but wonder if the top block on this one just isn’t for me.
666XHSib tag 32
634 19L tag 31

@bluemantra I’ve noticed that this tends to happen with a lot of regular straight cut jeans, I guess because of the extra room in the top block. I’ve generally found that sizing down fixes it, that is if the next size down doesn’t go too small for you (I’ve run into this with 634s and just had to wait for another run or just deal with the slightly bigger size until it forms some good creases).
If I’m not sure if the front is too big or it’s just my imagination, it’s usually helpful to check the back too. A too big fit makes the center bit where the yoke forms the V poke out in profile like a weird sort of triangle. I think if you see that, combined with the front bunching, the pair’s too big.
If it’s just the front, then likely that bunchy effect will chill once you get whiskers.

Sizing down definitely fixes it. It happens to me also when the waist is slightly big and inhave to crank the belt. That makes it even worse.
-
Oh yeah absolutely. If you need a belt, the jeans are too big. I like belts sometimes but only want them as an alternate style option.
-
@yannis That's what I'm going to do.

@Luijim78 even 634 suits you my friend~~
