Rolling Dub Trio

Picked these Coupens from S&S, they were at my door literally next day. Quality and comfort out of the box is amazing. Only one wear, however, super stoked!
-
Loving these boots. I have been eyeing those Caspers for a while. Seems like sizing is a bit of guesswork. Looking good guys!
-
@deanclean I love my Caspers, so much so that I may pick up another colour when they come back in stock. I sized incorrectly as they are a bit loose. I'm a Brannock 10E (right foot 10E, left foot is 9.5E), and went with a Casper 9. I think I'm actually an 8.5 or maybe even an 8.
The only thing I dont like is the shitty toe cap they have installed. It isn't flush to the sole because the sole wasn't cut out/notched.Otherwise, highly recommend this boot!
-
@stichdown-shell thanks for the tips. I’m about an hour away from a store in Toronto that has them so I may go for a drive to actually try one on first. Could that toe flaw be fixed you think or need an entire re sole to fix?
-
Another question for you guys. Anyone with the side zip boots. Can you see the brand of the zipper?
-
@deanclean The only store in Canada that I know of is Lost and Found in Toronto. They have initial stock in black but very limited sizes (maybe 1 or 2 sizes only at moment). They will be getting full stock this summer Ive been told. I'll be checking it out.
You can definitely install proper flush top taps with your cobbler. Very easy job for them. I'd recommend Triumph Brass ones or Lulu ones. I just left them as is for now.
-
@deanclean I"ll check my pair tonight and report back.
-
Great info @stichdown-shell thanks. Yes lost and found was the store I was thinking of. They have one size 11 but I’m not sure it will work. I’m normally 13 but have lost over 40lbs and my feet have shrunk it seems. All my boots and shoes seem roomier now I’ve gone to a size 12 now in most footwear. Lost and found only do store credit or exchange so I don’t want to buy them not knowing I can’t get a refund. I may just end up waiting until they get more stock then I’ll know I can try on a couple sizes.

@deanclean
this the zipper from my awesome Gleaners -

Well I just ordered the size 11 Caspers from Lost and Found. They were very nice and agreed to a refund if they don’t fit. I also just ordered a pair of the Natural Wesco Mr Lou’s from Iron Heart over the weekend. A small part of me hopes that one pair has to be returned for the sake of my wallet.
-
@deanclean Amazing! Please keep me posted on your thoughts and how it fits. I'd be very interested.
Congrats on both pairs!
Thanks.

My Caspers arrived yesterday. I haven’t had a chance to even try them on yet but I did open them up and have a look. They have a very unique look. That metal toe cap not being flush looks pretty strange but these guys know way more than me about footwear construction (I know nothing) so I assume it’s perfectly fine. Really looking forward to trying them on and seeing how they fit.
-
@deanclean how are your caspers mate? Saw them in stock today and am already in contact with the shop....
-
Hi @FlavourFade i ended up returning them. They were too big sadly. At the time they didn’t have a smaller size in stock so I just did a return. They only do store credit normally so I was lucky they would take the return. I thought I could find some time to get into the shop in person and try on a few sizes now that more are in stock, but that is proving difficult for me at the moment. Toronto is only about 1.5 hours away but it seems impossible to carve out that time lately.
-
Yeah one thing I can say is that in the heritage shoe game, I’m always running into the problem of shoes being too small. EXCEPT with RDT. They run big as hell (nice for me, I imagine not so nice for some).
-
Ya so true @popvulture i was really surprised how big they were. I’m a 12.5 or 13 in some shoes and the size 12 caspers I got seemed really big. Maybe could go to an 11 or maybe even 10.5
-
For sure. I’m usually between 13-14 in “normal” shoes, so with all these brands like Lofgren, Viberg etc that run a size big, 12 is usually as high as they go and I often end up a bit pinched. RDT were the first time I ever thought “shit — could I even go down a size?” Tbh the way their 12s fit me is probably the way I should aim to get all my boots to fit, in terms of just what’s ideal and healthy for my feet. I could probably fit comfortably into an 11 though, which is a wild concept for me haha.
-
Interesting @deanclean @popvulture ! I read somewhere that they are narrow but long, would you say that's correct? I often have some trouble with my right foot that's a little wider than the other but not enough so size up completely without getting too much heelslip for my taste. But still feel pressure on the front foot when the rest fits perfect
-
@FlavourFade mine feel totally normal width wise. I’m a D in everything unless it’s an anomaly like the Mr Lou.
