Then went on passed the fields of Verdun and circumnavigated Paris towards Normandy, where we saw the Bayeux Tapestry , an impressive 70m piece of embroidered cloth depicting the events leading to the Battle of Hastings. A medieval cartoon, so to speak.

Today we drove passed Mont Saint Michel to Saint Malo. Had a great dinner with oysters and fish in the Old town.
Met a friend from home. The Gorch Fock‘s home port is Kiel.
