@Tago-Mago lmao. Yeah I should’ve put that pic first

Seaside
Clean and polish time
Removed false tongue and changed Pisgah lace colour. Tried out mustang paste and cleaned the sides of the sole with The Pink Stuff (thanks @DeeDee85 for the suggestion)
Very happy with the horse oil. It darkens them up, makes them richer, adds depth, and really picks up any existing patina/dye transfer from denim. I was worried at first as it looked like it was applying unevenly, but it all mellows and evens out overnight.
-
@long_john86 they have come out fantastic!
-
@DeeDee85 Cheers mate! I think I could have been more patient and spend more time on them - especially the soles - but had to wrap up to get the little one to bed!
-
@long_john86 looking at how much the soles have brightened up, it’s about time I gave my 1907’s some TLC I think!
-
@Choko you been wearing these? curious how they're working out
-
@weftyarn Hey man, i was curious how the sizing on your redwings work out. Do you stick with a size across models? I have a few different lasts and they're all the same size. I'm considering picking up a pair of the work chukkas at my usual size - would you say they're consistent?
-
@WhiskeySandwich naw I haven’t worn them because it’s already in the 100s where I live but I dyed them a dark brown and they look better now. I couldn’t stand the orange
-
I call them the Dr.Peppers now haha
-
@Choko dude i bet those will look sick once they've seen some miles.
-
My latest pair, day 1. A bit snug on my “tailors bunion” (new term to me, bony pinky bump), but I’m sure they’ll give way. Got the same size as all my other RW, and they all start out a bit owchie, then work out. The copper rough and tough work chukka. This is my third model with the stuff - I love this leather.
-
Since I mentioned it, here are the other two
-
Well I admit my goof. After day 2, these are more owchie than I thinks is acceptable, and I’m pretty sure the pointed toe requires the 1/2 size extra. We’ll see when they show up.

Outdoor National Trust play thingy. Risky business in the North.
-
@WhiskeySandwich yes, the Work Chukkas need at least 0.5 size up from your regular size. I tried them on and no way these would have worked comfy. I wear 9.5 in IR, 10 in mocs and just ordered some Work Chukkas in 10.5
-
@FlavourFade Thats about in line with what others reported during my research. I find the mocs to be the most roomy of all though, and i swear I could probably get away with an 8.5 lol. But my Blacksmiths, mocs and 1907 are all a 9. I'm a 10 in Vans and on a Brannock. the 9.5 on the work chukkas is perfect though. Sold the other pair to a work buddy.
-
@WhiskeySandwich funny how different feet are. I have no idea what my brannock size is (german dude) but wear an 11us in most of my sneakers, but could get away with a 10.5. My Iron Rangers are the hawthorne muleskinner ones, so maybe with other leathers I would have to get a 10 but the roughout is soft enough to not generate discomfort. Mocs are a little too narrow for me so I need to size up to 10 at least. But I'm really thrilled to the chukkas
-
Was eyeing these for a couple years, after I saw a review of a really beaten pair on YouTube. Now finally got them and love how lightweight and easy to wear the 3141 Work Chukkas are. Compared to other Red Wings I had the break in is not existing, compared to my John Lofgrens they def need to soften up.
-
@ Flavourfade love those, i just got a pair of them in CRT leather. They feel great but they've been giving me a hot spot on my right heel only. Took a day off of them today. From my experience with the Briar, its a bit more forgiving in my Moc.
anybody peep the new Olive Mohave Mocs? Digging these a lot....

Nova Rock 2024… the boots have about 18 months of daily use in them.
