IHE-51-IND - Diamond Stitched 25oz Selvedge Denim Waist Bag - Indigo
-
@jordanscollected I used the Porter & Yoshida Co (equivalent) version in Japan. Similar to use, never had the use for one. However, carrying your wallet, phone, charger and/or a small bottle without having your pockets jammed was a game changer. I've seen the light!
-
@jordanscollected keys, sunglasses, headphones, cologne, deodorant, power bank, and a small container with an emergency toothbrush/toothpaste in it
Great for daily necessities, but if I have my swimwear and a book I'll grab the IH shoulder bag instead, which is significantly more spacious despite the measurements looking almost identical on the site.
I always carried a backpack to and from work, but find these to be more practical and aesthetically pleasing!

Just in case you get approached by a young lady in the queue for food?

Wore this thing all day, everyday while in Nam. 90-95° and humid as hell. Hiking, spelunking, riding motos…this thing was a god send.
It’s soaked in sweat and dirt and travel grime. Guess washing it may be the prudent thing to do. Think it will shrink or anything odd of that nature?
-
@Mizmazzle I don't think it'll shrink noticeably, fully intend to wash mine as and when is needed!
I imagine it'll look better with each wash, as being whooshed around inside a machine may be the only way that front panel sees any notable agiation to kick off the fading.
-
If I didn't already have the 37, I'd get this one. Looks so awesome. But my next bag will now have to be a leather one.
-
@Mizmazzle 25oz does have some shrink. I think the diamond stitching will help mitigate that. I’d wash it and just go for it. I think it would be more of the drying process that would make the most difference. Either way… you gotta do it for the denim science experiment
-
@Luijim78 Same here, but I wear my IHE-37 the same way as you are and I don't feel like I'm wearing a fanny pack at all.
Looks awesome on you.

@Oaktavia I was actually thinking about this earlier! I think the reason the hickory bag faded so well is because it is unlined with no structural reinforcement, leading the fabric folding and creasing in the same way a pair of jeans or a shirt would.
This one, however, is heavily structured, with an inner lining and whatever is used to create the padded diamonds, so the indigo is only really going to shed with continued abrasion/washes.
I'll still enjoy the process though! Love the bag, and use it daily now. Only use hickory when I need more space.
-
I 100% love this bag too...I'm holding off from washing it until summer is over. It's getting tons of daily use right now and I still have some fishing trips I pan to use it for. Then once it's time to go back to normal, post summer vacation work life....i'll wash it and shed the build up of grime from travel and mountain abuse.
-
@Oaktavia yeh! That's what's I'm looking forward to, you can see that coming through on the inside of @Mizmazzle 's in the pic in this thread.

Brutal! That poor hickory bag will be pining for you!
