@Jakederoche cool, I’m going to the show next weekend!
I’ll try to post some photos -
coming to Berlin in November----should be a fun show
-
@dinobarnesberlin they totally kick ass live!
-
@tody they will play at Columbiahalle and I am really looking forward to seeing them.
On the opposite side of the spectrum---got tickets to see Marcus King in Oct.
Eclectic as it gets! -
Hey, they killed it in Detroit. Legends. I was happy to see Michigan came through with lots of support to show them for their final tour. Opening band Codefendants was awesome as well.
-
@Jakederoche Codefendants are totally awesome. Shows that Fat Mike still can find some good talent. Goes for a lot of the BTTG bands, The Meffs are also great.
-
@tody BTTG bands?
Yeah, Codefendants had some incredible stage presence. You could tell as soon as the stepped onto the stage that they were going to be something to listen to. Just got done listening to their album while cutting the grass. Hoping it will grow on me! Would love to find some new music I will definitely check out this other group Tody! Thank you for the recommendation!
-
@Jakederoche his new Bottles To The Ground label... Independent from Fat Wreck the way I understand it.
-
@tody got it. Yes, find us some good bands fat Mike! Needs some inspiration like I used to get from music!
-
Fuck yeah Montreal! Heard you guys brought it for NOFX! 20,000 bet the show was nuts @hbg1
-
@Jakederoche ah I didn’t go to Montreal this weekend, I’m going to the Boston show 8/31
I did do a quick overnight to NYC last night though, caught the Power Trip/Ceremony/Frozen Soul show at knockdown.
It was incredible, crazy energy! I hadn’t seen Power Trip since 2019 (RIP Riley), it was emotional hearing those songs live last night.
Will get some photos posted in the thread this week -
@hbg1 sick. Boston will be fantastic I don’t doubt it!
-
@Graham not exactly a NIN vibe but here's some more (Death) Metal:
The first couple of Bloodbath albums are fantastic Old School Death Metal. Members from Katatonia plus Dan Swanö from Edge of Sanity plus Opeth's Mikael Akerfeldt on Vocals for the first record and Peter Tägtgren from Hypocrisy for the second:
For some at times tribal at times sludgy at times doomy Black/Death Metal Ruins of Beverast:
Tom G Warrior is the Godfather of avantgarde metal music for me, and Triptykon are absolutely fantastic:
Favourite Death song off my favourite Death album:
Great technical Death Metal, unfortunately the main man has gone through two entire lineups since this was recorded:
-
@Tago-Mago would have to agree with you on Tom G Warrior, haven’t heard a lot of Tryptikon but I did see the Triumph of Death/Hellhammer reunion performance a few years back and it was amazing.
Incredible performance!Edit, went back and found a photo from 2019
-
@Tago-Mago I saw At the Gates at the same festival in 2022 in Vegas.
They played a pool party at midnight and it was crazy! earlier that day was a set from Abbath’s Motörhead cover band Bömbers. Highly recommend seeing them if the chance comes up!The highlight of the pool that weekend for me was seeing Nuclear Assault the night before At the Gates.
I sense quite a few metal conversations at the party in a few weeks
-
Spent most of the day yesterday at the NOFX show.
Was a lot of fun, great bands (aside from the Defiant), great local food trucks, and an awesome day with friends.
Highlight of the day for me was the Circle Jerks, Keith Morris sounds incredible for 68 years old.

The Descendents were so good last night in Silver Spring, MD!
After staying up till midnight watching the Ravens game the night before, waking up at 5:45 to drive an hour and teaching all day, driving another hour and a half to SS, eating Koren BBQ, standing for four hours in my Wescos on the balcony, followed by driving 2 hours to get home to WV at 12:45am...I am a little tired . But it was so worth it.
