Wax Treasure (Vinyl)

@Mizmazzle so cool man and no surprise at @Jett129 ’s generosity. Plus it’s fucking great rock n’ roll!
-
I’ve got a growing collection of records, a mix of blues/rock, classic rock, and hip-hop vibes. Most of it is new or re-issued, but I’m lucky to have some of my Dad’s original Beatles and Rolling Stones records.
-
@ManiacLachy love that deltron album.
Finally got around to adding it to my shelf in the last year or so
-
@GraemeE it's one of my favourites, it's fairly obscure as well - I knew this was a forum of good taste!
-
@Mizmazzle He was on that crazy good Judgement Night soundtrack with Dinosaur Jr., I really liked that track.
-
@Mizmazzle Thank you so much, you put a big smile on my face. Glad to know that they have a good home, and that you enjoy some of the tracks. I actually wrote the lyrics to the song Television as a joke, and one of the guys said I think I can do something with them, and I said that I wanted to use the drum beat from I Want You to Want Me by Cheap Trick. Is the test pressing playable? It felt heavier to me,is it a different weight vinyl?

Birthday present from my kids.
Pleasantly surprised to hear FAITHLESS in such a good shape, after all this years.Perhaps I should mention that this was dropped a lot in their media accounts before.
In the end this was stacked at a record shop in a five minute walk from their school.
The shop owner mailed me a beautiful message, how my 16 year old triplets reacted to his store. -
@Jett129 just responding to this, sorry. Yes the test pressing is a much heavier weight record. I’d say 200gram maybe even a bit heavier. It sounds incredible btw. I think even better than the production copy. Has a ton of dynamics and some very ethereal highs with the vocals, guitars and cymbals.
Listening to it again now
-
@Mizmazzle It was really kind of random, but I was in someone's office at Columbia Records and she said I have your test pressing,do you want it? I never heard anyone saying that they had listened to the Test Pressing and gave it the green light. So I don't know why she had it,if she had listened to it,don't know if a "Test Pressing" is just some sort of formality and it never really gets listened to,but I'm glad it now has a good home and is,definitely, being listened to.

@Jett129 i know, at least with records pressed in the last 25 years, there are typically 5 identical (theoretically) test pressings made and sent out to the artist/artists rep to sign off on before the actual run of the record is pressed.
Whenever I've had them given to me it's usually just listening to make sure nothing went haywire during the mastering/cutting process.
I can say that i have owned multiple official releases where somebody did not bother to listen to the test press thoroughly.....
