Is a future slim cut with a more pronounced taper too much to hope for
I'm pretty new to Iron Heart but I really love the IH denim fabrics. Most jeans I've worn previously have hems that are 6-7" (waist size 34-35), so fairly narrow hems, which I feel is flattering considering my pretty skinny legs. The IH cuts, even the 777, are still fairly wide over my ankles and tend to cover more of my boots/shoes than I prefer.
I would be over the moon over an IH fit with a more narrow hem. "Super slim tapered"? Am I hoping for too much?

@Giles Yeah, I was afraid so. And I get the aesthetic aspect. Though, it would have been fantastic!

@goosehd I've considered doing that but I'm not sure if I can find a tailor I trust where I live (Sweden). I need to do some research I guess. Does anyone have pictures of their recut/tapered jeans?
-
@V-P I think @CosmoSix5 has had some of his tailored for a slimmer hem.

@V-P Here is a picture from a member who isn’t active anymore, but may give you an idea. https://www.ironheart.co.uk/forum/post/246444
I linked to his pictures, but if you go back through the thread you will get more information on what he did and who he used (Denimdoctor).

@goosehd Great, thank you. Good to know. I will try to look around locally to what I can find.
-
@Tago-Mago Interesting! @CosmoSix5, do you have any pictures to share? Before and after would be awesome!

@V-P One other thing and this is just my opinion…pictures may be helpful for you, but what you need to decide is what you want out of a tailoring request. What works for the cut, what doesn’t, and where does it need to change?
Once you have answered those questions, then you need to speak with a tailor and describe what you’re looking for. Slimmer jeans is not always helpful and more information is often needed. Working with a tailor is a two person job for success. What you want and what they can do.

@goosehd Nothing drastic really. I basically want a 555 or 666 with a taper from the knee to 6.5-7". So just a slight taper compared to what is offered but it would make a difference to me. Some room in the thighs is fine, I'm not looking for a tight/skinny jean fit. I do like the 777's but they still often end up at 7.5-8" in my size. Ideally, I would also want something with a slightly higher rise than the 777's (though I still love my 777 19oz LHT's).

and this
@V-P Please study these links as the jeans (555, 666, 777) you listed all have different characteristics. Starting off with a pair that most closely matches your end goal will make the process much easier on you and the tailor.

@V-P I agree with your request. The 888 and 777 don't work for me. The low rise of the 777 makes me look weird and the 888 seems way to relaxed up top. I found a lady that tapers my jeans for $15 here around town. Fantastic job. She did my 21oz(attached) and currently has my 14oz ib and duck 555's. She's tapering them a little less at the hem than pictured. As it's hard to put on my tall lace ups.
-
@CosmoSix5 Thanks, that looks great! Does she taper them from the inside or the outside seam?
-
@V-P the pair in the pic she did the selvedge/outside. So she didn't cut the fabric. I asked for the inseam to be cut this time.
